Naoma: Wow. Thank you so much. I am certainly honored as well as " honoured " ;) and humbled.

Carolyn: Thank you my friend for your poem too. :rh: For your loving friendship. Truly blessed to have you in my life.

The 2 of you brought a tear to my eye. A happy one.

Thanks to Scott , Judi, Wind and Iona for birthday wishes too.

:grhug: to all of you.

judi: It is my hip not my knee that is causing me grief and after several months of various supplements and lots of rest....... still not good. :( I will be seeking professional advice this coming week. I HAVE to be able to walk and hike without pain.............and I cannot live on painkillers. So something has to be done.

Aging........ not for faint of heart :D

Cheers to all of you. Let's hope 2019 is a good year for all of us.

Great that you're seeing some new birds and very cool that the bird answered when you played the call Naoma. I wonder what you said and what the answer was. :mihihi:

Thanks for the update on the remaining eagles in rehab and vid of the first release elle. :)
I hope your doctor finds a way to help with the hip pain that doesn't involve upping the pain killers. You're right about aging. :mihihi:

Happy Sunday, Everyone

Anybody else have Superbowl programs on TV? :)

I didn't repeat the call again for that very reason, Scott. :D
I'll have to check and see what kind of call it was. Usually they have song vs call to check out on the recordings.
Another bird call has puzzeled me for a week or more. It was a low slow whoop whoop whoop we'd never heard anywhere before. I could not find a bird listed with that call. Then I remembered seeing the small common ground dove around & checked that by chance. That was it. Not the usual coo of a dove.

Dr. Lynn sure has a way of catching the essence of an animal, especially in the eyes. :)

elle, we do what we gotta do so we can keep doing our best to do the things we love. :)
Wow, that was a lot of "dos & doing". :D

Does and doing,
onward and upward we go,
we do, we see, we explore,
never knowing exactly what for?

But the doing is fine,
and the done part shows we have won,
what I don't know......
But it's all good for us to grow.

If you say don't, it means actually to do,
that is what I learned after the dog ate my shoe.
Well, actually that is not true, but it had to rhyme,
to make it sublime.

Nice job matching the bird to the sound you heard Naoma. That is different than the sounds I hear from the locals. :)
My doves disappeared a few days ago. After having more than a dozen daily to none. Maybe they knew the cold weather was on the way. 15F and breezy today.
I didn't watch much of the Superbowl but will check out all the commercials when they're online.

Hi All!

In answer to your question TX, no Superbowl here, ever actually. Just not our thing.....interesting one though from what I read.

Iona, a cool bit of info for you. You know the Donkey Rescue in Plantersville we talked about. Well, my husband has a engineer that he hired and trained who had acreages out in the Country and she has two donkeys from that rescue, probably will keep. She also, has two border collies, a son, a husband (incredible guy), chickens, goats, sheep, llama and said donkeys. I was happy to hear the donkeys found a great home. Oh, horses too......

Did not mention that my husband is now retired and busier than he ever was when working. That is life, isn't it?

That's pretty cool your husband's trainee rescued two donkeys to add to her hobby farm Carolyn. :)
I hope Bill is busier doing more things he enjoys now that he's retired.

Carolyn That is so awesome. I know Janine has connection with a couple rescues in TX. I can't tell you which ones, but they work together to save as many equine as they can. If you want to read as cute book, Make Room For Donkeys, is a book Janine wrote about two of the donkeys she rescued. It's written for kids, but is a good read.

Love and hugs to all :offtobed:
