Re: poisoned eagles. They were poisoned from feeding on a farm animal that had been euthanised with barbituates and not buried properly. The Raptors where they eagles were rehabbed did find the source but one has to wonder how many other eagles and other wildlife may have been affected and were not discovered . Again......... human caused.
I was unable to sign in for a few days. In the meantime my birthday has come and gone ( January 30) and since I am in charge of birthdays here I will say Happy Birthday to me. :grlol;
We are actually expecting snow on Sunday and below freezing temps! Winter ain't over until it's over. I just hope the Polar Vortex does not make it across the continent .
Have a great weekend everyone.

While I have told Lynda Happy Birthday by email....I will also post it here, as cheer is a glorious thing to spread.

Happy Birthday Lynda, a wildlife's friend,
and ours too, we do not really know what we would
do without you. :)

Interesting info on the foxes Naoma. I read that they can climb trees too and that would be a pretty cool pic to get. :)

Nice s'caps from the 10 nests Iona. :)

Great news about the 6 eagles being released Judi. :)

I hope you had a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY elle. :)
Thanks for the info on the poisonings source. How irresponsible of the farmer. :(

Scott I had more to post, but for some reason they stopped loading. I'm still having trouble with having to continually login.

I'll try again later, I was going to say tomorrow, but it's already after 1 am.

It started logging me out every time I tried to send you a pm now Iona but it worked once I deleted the browser cookies again. There are going to be a lot of lost posts unless everyone creates a copy before submitting if this is the way it's going to continue here. I sometimes forget to click the "go back one page" arrow. :)
Luckily I remembered this time as it asked me to log in again when I first tried to post this. :mihihi:
P.S. Same thing when I posted the Good Morning.

elle, in honor of your birthday, I would like to say what a great soul you are.

Your passion & compassion for wildlife is a beauiful thing. Thank you for the pictures & info you provide to us & HWF of your local

eagles. Also from all the critters you welcome into your yard and as well as the ones you look out for in your neighborhood,

many many :ty: .

Last but not least, :ty: :ty: :ty: for being a great friend to us here at EA.

 Luvs, hope you are all having a great weekend.

Iona, nice job on the last couple of rounds of s'caps on the eagle circuit. You got some good ones.

Still working on the phone log in issues, Scott. Even after deleting cookies it's not working for me. I'll wait a bit longer before I say "give". I need to buckle down & master the pic loading problems. :)

I've seen a few new, to me, birds lately in the back yard. An orange crowned warbler.
A very small bird at the feeder I'd seen. Then it called from a limb above. I use an app called Merlin by the Cornell Lab that is very useful for ID. I pressed the sound button & it not only sounded like it, the bird answered!
:)
Also, an eastern towee, I think so far. Pretty black w/orange sides.

I think my hawk is a red shouldered by ID & sound. We'll see. :)
