Re: Eagleholics Anonymous ~ 2018
I had a family problem over the New Years holiday. My brother Terry age 65 oops 66 he just had a birthday yesterday had a stroke about two months back but has recovered. I called him New Years day to wish him happy new year
and his phone was disconnected so I panicked calling his ex wife Lynda to say that had she seen him because his phone was disconnected, so together we called his landlord couldn't get through, we called all the hospitals no Terry admitted, we called his part time work at Home Depot and they said he wasn't working until Thursday, now new years day was on Tuesday and Linda told me Terry had a gambling problem (I didn't know that) so he might be out at the casinos or celebrating new years downtown because Vancouver has a big fireworks show so I had to wait until we heard from him in which she never called me until the next day when he showed up at her place so I was relieved he was alive and figured he was celebrating our polar bear swim at English Bay every new years for about 50 years. So yesterday he comes by to visit me and Gary because it's his birthday now 66 so he ate dinner with us and then left to go to his new 3 bedroom condo and had been moving to from his bachelor suite with a rent increase of 2.4% to a new shared condo 3 bedroom and sharing with 2 roommate's for $600 a month each, so that is why the phone disconnect phew all that trouble for nothing because he never told the family or his ex wife he was moving to pay cheaper rent
Have a nice day my friends today is my other brother Johnny's birthday and yes all three of us are Capricorns
why did this come up twice
off to view the cams and thanks for the link Scott and Carolyn concerning the dog and snowy owl
getting big those great Dane pups Iona

Deb, what a beautiful photo of Doreen.
Her smiling eyes and warm smile shine from her face.
Thank you for sharing that with us.
Thanks for the latest eagle nest & updates, Iona. Very nice article about the Hamlet nest.
Scott, great close encounter with the Coopers. I've not seen my hawk perched in the tall tree again but I hear it routinely. Yesterday it seemed to be accompanying of a kettle of vultures. My backyard variety is slowing growing. So far the usual birds such as you named.
Carolyn, you are a word fairy.
elle, you get to see your yard owl.
JuD & Gary
Finally cooled off here and I'm loving it. Humidity low as well, even better.

Very nice poem Carolyn.
Good to hear everything turned out well with Terry Judi.

Aah! Rest in Peace beautiful inside and out Doreen. We miss you.
Naoma: 3 neighbours have told me they have either seen or heard the owl(s) . I may just be missing him But I am happy to hear he/she is back in the 'hood.
Carolyn: Thank you for your poems and delightful presence here on this thread.
Scott: One of the Coopers Hawks nests on the green at the end of our street blew down in the windstorm we had recently. I say " one of" because they have built 4 nests there So they have others to choose from.
everyone. Glad all is well.

Thanks Debs
Seeing a picture of Doreen brought back all the sadness I felt in her passing. I considered her a very good friend and a fighter until the end. She endured a lot with Cancer and she always put on a brave face and always seemed happy to me that is why I found myself admiring her attitude in such a bad time of her life. They had a nice eulogy for her and she will always be remembered to me here as a very courageous woman. I loved her and will miss her

We feel the same way about Doreen Judi.
Nice s'caps from the SWFL cam.
Thanks for the links Naoma.
I hope the redwood super grove is a success. That would be awesome for later generations to see.
Cool story and pics of the Malabar giant squirrel. What a lovely animal.
The hummer wouldn't stay still long enough for a pic but I did manage to get pics of a few critters as I sat watching from the couch. A male Downy Woodpecker, Eurasian Collared-Doves in the pear tree, some Juncos, and a squirrel visiting the deck were a few. The squirrel pic was later when the sun had disappeared so it's grainier.
