Very cool new nests to view in Arizona and Florida Iona...I think the names Jack and Jill for the Arizona hill nest as brilliant.
Jack and Jill flew up the hill to settle in their nest,
and now we wait, to see the rest....way up there so high.

Re: Eagleholics Anonymous ~ 2018
Iona: That nest looks like it should be a Golden Eagle nest. That is how they nest. Clearly it is a Bald Eagle in it though.
Well I have been lamenting the fact the Barred Owl who has shown up in my yard for the last 7 years has not made an appearance this past fall year. In the last couple of days I have heard from 2 different nearby neighbours that he/she has been seen on their properties. I am happy for that.
judi: It is indeed a deluge out there.
First record winds
and now record rainfall.
I have been hibernating a lot over that past 10 days or so ( and loving it) but had to go out today and came home quite drenched.
My right hip has been causing me a lot of grief so walking has been painful. I am hoping that will pass soon or I will be asking for a hip replacement for my birthday.
Speaking of birthdays , mine is this month. I lead the pack and I will wish myself a Happy Birthday here when the time comes
Windy: Turning 50 this year.
PM me your birth date please and thanks so we can celebrate along with you.
Hugs all around.

Thanks for the new cam links and s'caps Iona.
Cute poem Carolyn.
Nice s'caps from the SWFL cam Judi.
Hopefully the Barred Owl will drop by to see you again elle. They do live long lives for a bird.
We had the same thought about the new Lake Pleasant nest. The pictures I found of the area didn't show a lot of large trees so I suppose the eagles just made the best with what was available. They have a great view from the nest.

Re: Eagleholics Anonymous ~ 2018

Cute s'cap of Ilona and N'usha Judi.

Apparently they are pets of a Russian but I couldn't find much more info about them, only the two videos from 2017.
I was watching a little tv this afternoon and had my binoculars at hand to check the hummingbird and other usual daily visitors to my deck. Juncos, finches, sparrows, doves, bush tits, and the hummer all showed up. A few minutes later when I checked there were no birds in sight. I figured the Cooper's hawk was around and had a nice surprise as it landed on the deck railing. It looked around the deck then noticed me and flew off. Even if I had my camera handy there wasn't enough time for a pic but it was a nice encounter.

Re: Eagleholics Anonymous ~ 2018
That is an adorable picture of the two buddies, thanks Judi. It sounds like they are in the same family per what Scott said.
We saw a hummer here the other day, quite surprising actually, thought they were all long gone, but there was one. We have been seeing tons of Blue Herons and Snowy Egrets (note, we do not have geese and I referenced ducks which we have). I love counting how many BH and SE I see each morning. The herons and egrets stay near diving ducks to snatch their catch usually successfully. It's cool to see, but not for the diving duck.

A morning tribute to Dr. Roger's reports......I hope you like it.
The mink waited as I parked my car, apparently, had been waiting just for me.
I wondered is it possible, that he learned so quickly?
Coming up the steps, carefully, not to scare, I know the mink is aware.
He watches, he waits,he has all the time in the world.
Bologna, flash it out, hand it out, mink triumphant,
snatches and flies down. Victory!
