From Cam chat
Dec 12, 5:41 PM
jd_AEF (Moderator): 4:39 pm Romeo and Juliet are still out and about. The temp at the nest is doable to retain suspended development without a parent incubating.

Zoomer is looking for Romeo and Juliet .. I am no expert but I think there is an intruder in the area ..JMO

sharpie- AEF

Juliet was on the nest from 2 am to 6 am this morning. She is more than likely taking an extended break because in about 7-9 days she will have her talons full! This is not unusual - she's done this before!

: It's been an unusual 24hrs in the Hamlet. . .at least for Romeo & Juliet's typical routine. Many nests face much of what we don't know. But live cams show it all and what a learning experience it is. Juliet has been scarce from the nest since last night. She did arrive when Romeo called out about 2am this morning. She incubated this morning yet was still scarce much of the day. Once she arrived this afternoon as she and Romeo vocalized and Romeo flew off with Juliet following. She did arrive back at the nest later and appeared to "puff herself up" which is what birds to to look bigger and badder (is that a word?) Then she flew. Actions indicate there was an intruder (or more) in their territory. As the nest turns. . .we have an intruder perched at the nest tonight. At first Romeo showed signs of disapproval, but it appears he's not threatened by this younger one, which is likely one of their own from a few years ago.

This sub-adult may likely spend the night and will be escorted out of their territory in the morning. Where's Juliet? Maybe holding another one away. She will return and we need to TTE (trust the eagles). They know what they are doing and this pair is quite experienced. That's your tuckin! SED

gretchen_AEF (Admin):
Whew! Think those viewing are exhausted by now!! Cam op, lisaS_AEF was scrambling with the cams to catch the action. Juliet arrived with mighty vocals shared. The intruder (sub-adult) got the message. Juliet jumped in the nest and wanted "her egg duty". Romeo arose and gave the sub the word and off the sub flew. Romeo is perched and all is well. SED everyone!
