Liberty flew over my head as I snapped away trying to capture this beauty in fight...

Liberty flew low over the river & I lost sight of her for a bit! I looked over in Bluff Branch area & Liberty's Island but couldn't see her anywhere?

Finally, I spotted her over on Dead Tree & it looked like she had caught some kind of prey! It also looked like another bird was pestering her so just as I started to head in that direction, Liberty flew south back over the 44 Bridge with her "catch of the day" in tow...

It looked like Liberty caught a nice, big trout from the river! It was so good to see that she is finding plenty of food!

Phil~I'm so sorry that I didn't see your earlier posts about the Fires here in our area! Yes, this fire was not as close as the one we had here in July! But, it was such a large wildfire that caused so much destruction & loss of life... It's very sad & has affected so many people & so much wildlife :(

Thank you so much for your concern, it has finally started RAINING here so I think we are out of danger for a while now! :luck:

On a positive note, I found BOTH Liberty & Spirit on top of the Christmas Tree this morning!!! What a wonderful sight that was! And, the lighting was fantastic so I was able to get some nice shots of our lovely Redding eagle pair!

I could listen to that all day!

It was just such a glorious sight to see our lovebirds up there on one of their favorite trees!

Liberty took off & headed south after about an hour up there, and Spirit was right behind her! I didn't get any lift off shots since they headed in the opposite direction from where I was standing, but I was just so happy to see them! :D :D :D

I have great news for those of you who enjoy watching my videos of our eagles! We finally switched our Internet Provider & now I have super fast speed so my videos upload very quickly!!! It used to take many, many hours, or even days for a short 2-3 minute video to upload! So I haven't been taking as many videos these past few years for that very reason!

Here is a real short one that I took today of our eagles on top of the Christmas Tree! I just missed the singing between these two!
It's also a bit shaky, sorry about that I didn't have my camera on my tripod!

Roger reported that Liberty & Spirit are still busily bringing in sticks & soft material to their new nest down at Riverview!

The sightings at Turtle Bay have been few & far between lately, but Roger sent us some photos that he took recently...

Hi Phil!

So glad you enjoyed the recent photos of our beautiful Redding Eagles!

Well, I gave it my best shot this morning! I was heading down to Riverview at 7:45 when I got a text from Sue that she saw 2 big birds on the Christmas Tree! So, I took a quick detour and headed down to check that out!

When I drove by, I saw 2 big birds but didn't get a real good look at them since they were preening. I grabbed my bike and raced down the 44 Trail, hoping to see Liberty & Spirit on top of the Christmas Tree!

But, when I got down there, I realized that there were 2 Turkey Vultures on top of the Christmas Tree, not L & S!!! :mihihi:

So, I raced back down to Riverview & walked all the way down to the 5th Fairway! Roger said he had seen 1 of the eagles in the nest a little earlier.
But, when I got down there, there were no eagles anywhere?!?

I walked around & checked out some of their favorite spots along the river & on the golf course, but no luck!

So, I packed up & headed back to Turtle Bay & took another spin around that area. Still no eagles anywhere?

Well, it was a lovely day & despite not seeing our beloved eagles anywhere, I still enjoyed being out there!

Roger messaged me a little bit ago & said they both showed up down there shortly after I left! Of course they did!!! :mihihi:

He said Liberty didn't stay too long, but he was able to get a lovely close up shot of Spirit for us!
