As always amazing pictures Scott, thanks for sharing. Even if I couldn't be there, at least I get to live through your pictures.

Scott
I've certainly missed visiting your Chilliwack Eagle page.
What a beautiful day to celebrate the eagles. Good job on the coverage & photos.

Thank you Carolyn, Pat, Naoma, and Marg.
A sunny day so I went out for a couple hours this afternoon checking 7 nests and searching for a few local eagles. The first hour I didn't see any eagles but did manage to see 5 later.
The first was perched overlooking the slough with it's mate perched farther away. I took some long distance pics then walked along the road to get a little closer. I was still was not close but it looked like it was getting ready to fly off so I headed back to the van.
It was still keeping an eye on me as I got in.

No eagles in any of their nest trees but the ones I saw were only a short flight from several nests.
This pair was dining on fish on a gravel bar in the Fraser River. I spotted them easily as I was driving by but it was hard to find a clear pic through the bushes once I walked back to the area they were in.
They of course had spotted me and must have thought I wanted their fish as they immediately grabbed it and flew to the other side of the river.

Things did work out well. Very well, Scott.
Gorgeous day, great pictures and I'm sure a wonderful time getting out for it all.
In one of the 9:34 pics, it looks like the eagle is stretched out on the beach instead of flying. Great illusion.
So that's why the eagles always keep their eye on you, you fish stealer, you.
for taking us along.

Thank you Iona, Naoma, elle, Marg, & Judi for the nice comments. I really wish I could get out more often.
Another beautiful day so I went for a short ride this afternoon. There are too many people living in this area now so too many cars on the roads and everyone seems in a hurry. Sometimes it's hard to find a spot to pull over when you see an eagle but I just got off the road as far as I could and put the flashers on when I spotted this one enjoying the day.
Farther down the road I spotted this one but there was room to get completely off the road this time.

After taking a few pics then moving to a clearer spot I could see this one perched in the same tree.
Nearby I could see another one perched in the shadows.
