TERF12 fledged from his nest on Hastings Street in Vancouver, BC, (near the Pacific Northwest Exhibition) and subsequently crashed into a house during flight. He was rescued and taken to the OWL (Orphaned Wildlife) Rehabilitation Society facility in Delta, BC. TERF12 was banded on July 28, 2021, receiving USFW band number 0709-06735 and a more readable blue band on the left leg with the characters L over 0. The fledgling eagle was released a few days later. I don’t know if TERF12 had a blood test to determine his gender, but David Hancock has seen a lot of eagles, and said TERF12 was “one of the smallest males I’ve ever seen” – which is good enough for me!
TERF12
Banding Date: July 28, 2021
USFW Band #: 0709-06735
Banded: Blue marker L over 0 on its left leg
Rescued: Hastings Street, Vancouver; banded at OWL
Age: 5-6 months
Eye color: Dark brown
Sex: Male
Here's a photo of two of the three Hastings eaglets, with thanks to forum member Annemie. All three fledged, and we don't actually know which one became TERF12 - but this does show the place he called home.

All 3 Hastings eaglets - 1 in the nest the other 2 in the tree on the slanted branch. Unfortunately we don't know which one is tagged!

Re: Tracking TERF12/Hastings
I just started looking at TERF12's map recently. There may be earlier tracker check in locations, but by August 11th TERF12/Hastings was hanging out along the Skeena River inland from Prince Rupert, near Terrace. Many if not all the lines on this map connect times after August 11th.
Re: Tracking TERF12/Hastings
August 24th - brief excursion to the northwest and returned to Skeena River east of Terrace
Re: Tracking TERF12/Hastings
forward to September 21st - TERF12/Hastings continues along Skeena west of Terrace - new favorite location
Re: Tracking TERF12/Hastings
September 22nd, 500pm - a bit further south, on a side stream
September 23rd, 930pm - nearby, same area

Re: Tracking TERF12/Hastings
September 25th - The Lakelse River campground has 4 rustic sites with tables and campfires - mountain and river views. The river is reported as popular for salmon and trout fishing .
Re: Tracking TERF12/Hastings
Thanks so much, Lynne - wonderful to learn more about the places these young eagles are exploring.
