Re: Tracking BETA03
Thanks, Lynne! I was a bit surprised to see that he was heading to White Rock - and that he had visited Washington State!
I'm trying to catch up on a few things, and today's project was filling in the gap in the reports on BETA03's travels from July 21 to October 30. My new posts were inserted starting here - viewtopic.php?f=95&t=549#p503140 - and I also added a video to the previous post showing his travels from June 25 to July 21.
While I was doing that, I noticed that there were several times in September and October when his saved data looked as if he was in the same place for several days or a week or more every day at 4 pm (if you're on the west coast, the time stamp might be 1 pm). I'm quite certain he didn't stay in one place that long, so that's most likely a tracker glitch or issue with the software (generally the trackers record at least some of the places an eagle has been and upload it the next time they are near a cell tower, and it looked to me that he only recorded new positions when he was somewhere he could upload them - or something like that). It isn't a big deal, but does make it harder to know exactly when he was in a certain location.
I have more work to do on the "summary of travels" post - viewtopic.php?f=95&t=549#p446033 - but that's a project for another day.

Re: Tracking BETA03
January 2nd update
BETA03 was back by the landfill on January 1st
Jan 2nd @ 8am - at a regular location
I'd guess it would take less than a few minutes for an eagle to fly from the land fill to WR nest area. I'm surprised we don't see the landfill regulars in that area more often - except food availability is very different.

In Seattle I'm viewing tracker map info in same time zone as these eagles. Even so, I have also noted a few time discrepancies when I have compared data downloaded on different dates.

I've updated the "summary of travels" in the second post, though the data was a bit unreliable in September and October when he was wasn't checking in very often - but it does give an overview.
