Awww, thanks, Suemac. It’s always so special to see people care for other animals. Warms my heart. I’m sure Josh would enjoy that book when he’s a little older. Many of his little clothes have animal pictures on them ❤️ And his uncle just last night read to him the toddler book about Harriet that Ginny wrote.
Best wishes,

Peggy :)

 :puzz: Can anyone identify this pretty little bird? My first thought was Sandpiper. BUT can't find picture that matches exactly.
One of them takes a bath with great joy. :D

Good morning everyone ! Happy Sunday

Good Luck Sue ! Hope you get to see Rosie !! :luck:
Sunday matinee had me in stitches. When they started nibbling toes I knew what was going to happen !
But didn't expect those results. :mihihi:

Hello Peggy, Bird ID ?? It looks like a Plover ?? It runs around like a Juvenile Plover? :dunno:

Hello LP, I was watching the MRFW Eagle.
Yes this trio seems to have feet. :D

It's getting catchy now. This Eagle is looking to see if it has feet :mihihi:

Flipped over to the MRFW GSB camera (great spirit bluff).

Hello Sunnybird  Do you see what I see ?
Can see for miles and miles. It's Beautiful
Screenshot (931).png
There is a boat coming out of the Locks. Heading up river.
Screenshot (932).png
And there is the train. Quietly sitting on the track next to the water. I waited for it to take off but never did.
I think maybe it was getting loaded with something that a ship has brought up to the Locks ??

Sunnybird, Your welcome. I forgot to put the link in case you or anyone else wants to check out MRFW GSB.
https://www.raptorresource.org/birdcams/gsb-falcons/
The Peregrine Falcon is on camera right now at GSB. It is either Newman, or Zooey. I don't know which.
Screenshot (935).png
It has been rough "seas" watching MRFW today. Between the noise of the wind and the cameras bouncing in the wind. :grlol;
I did find 3 eagles on Eagle island. These too, all have their feet ;)
If you notice at top almost all the way left are the channel markers. One red, and one green. On a river, the green buoy means pass to the right, and a red buoy means pass to the left when moving upstream.
In open waters, like the Great Lakes, the Red buoys should always be on you right (starboard side), as you are returning in from open waters. And on your Left going out. When I was young I was taught a way to remember, 'Red Right Return".
That was your water safety lesson for today.

Hello peeps !
Jupiter will be in Opposition tonight. This means, it is on the direct opposite side of the Earth from the Sun (hence the name).
It will be visible in the sky all night long, from sunset to sunrise on Monday Sept. 26, 2022.
At 10 p.m. Eastern Time on Sunday Sept. 25, 2022 Jupiter will make its closest approach to the Earth since 1963. (59 years ago).

Jupiter takes almost 12 years to complete one trip (orbit), around the Sun

Jupiter has four major moons, Io, Europa, Ganymede and Callisto. They were discovered 412-years ago by Galileo.
On Sunday (Sept. 25) you'll be able to see three of the major moons on one side of Jupiter (Io, Europa and Callisto).
All you need is a good pair of binoculars (or a telescope) to see the four largest moons of the biggest planet in our solar system.
** By the latest count, Jupiter has 79 confirmed moons.

Jupiter rises and sets in the Southeast.
Rises at 7:02 pm EDT 9/25/22 - Sets at 7:06 am EDT 9/26/22.

If you don’t see it tonight it should still be visible for a couple more nights. Weather permitting.
Happy viewing 👀

Good Morning all ! Happy Monday
Morning sunnybird, finally a clear morning with color. Thank you for s'cap.
Hello Peggy and Joshy. Just to be clear, the pic of Jupiter is not what I seen. It is a pic from nasa.gov. :)

I still have a very out of focus picture at MRFW.
But I do see an Eagle or two.
Screenshot (939).png
Then one
Screenshot (940).png
Then this one flies into the wind and gone.
Screenshot (946).png
Again watching for feet. Both eagles had white heads, so both definitely had feet. ;)

LazyParrot GM, I hope all is well and you have your safe plan ready to go if needed !

I am worried for our eagle friends in Florida, and any area that Ian is going to effect.
Pritchett family please be safe.
VickiO, Androcat, Ice ! Prayers to everyone ! Safety is the top priority right now.

Harriet and M it's time to fills your crops. Soon go to your safe place to ride out the storm.
Like they didn't know that. ;) Harriet is always prepared for anything !

Sorry don't mean to be a worry wort, but, as Ian gets closer, it is not looking any better.

MRFW GSB (great spirit bluff).
Cam op has been zooming around.
Screenshot (943).png
It is so blue
Screenshot (944).png
How wonderful would it be to sit in a lawn chair on top of the bluff and gaze out upon this. So beautiful
