Most of the night looked like this. Green ;)

Then what blue sky that was showing is taken over by more green.

This morning. Blue was the only real color, as the pink tried to peak it's way through the clouds.

Today is...
National Cake Day.
:cake:
There are countless cake recipes. Some are even bread-like, others rich and elaborate.
Many recipes are centuries old, of Viking origins. The word cake is derived from Old Norse “kaka.”
At that time, a cake’s texture was more like gingerbread due to the availability of refined ingredients.
And if you add a scoop of ice cream, you have America’s top favorite desserts in the same dish! 😋

Best wishes,

Horse with face covering 11-27-2022.jpg
Good morning everyone. Does anyone know why 2 of the horses appear to be wearing some sort of face covering?

It may be protection for their eyes, UV rays?

Peaaceful Sunday morning on the Mississippi River Flyway cam.
No sun, but water is calm and soothing.
It is the "live" cam this morning.
Love those train whistles :%:

 Hi Sunnybird. Thanks, good guess. I looked up these masks and they are used to keep insects away from face. Sounds reasonable since Suemac posted yesterday evening that large numbers of bats were out and about--maybe mosquitoes are a problem?? Wouldn't be surprised with all of the rain and standing water. Maybe someone that lives in that area and knows about local horses will see my question and let us know.

Hello All ! Happy Sunday !

Howdy sunnybird, and Peggy !

Hello LazyParrot, Just want to give another answer to why the horses have hoods on ?
They do that to keep the black flies, from biting around the face and tender eye area. Some masks are even treated with insect-repellents.
Those long tails can only reach so far to swish the flies away. 🐴
Also like sunnybird said for UV protection too.

Hope you are all have a nice Sunday.

 Good morning Lovinnature. Thanks for your info about horse face coverings. Also, thanks for getting involved on the chat with my question about S hook and Harriot trying to dislodge it. Think it would have been pretty much blown off otherwise. The zoomie seemed interested---sure would like to know what he/she was thinking. Anyway, looks like no one is particularly interested and hope Harriot has lost interest. Maybe more rails will cover it and she will forget.
