Hello everyone. I visited the nest yesterday and did a video of what I saw. No Harriet or M15 but it was great to be there and see how the summer is treating the area.

A Freshly Mowed Green Pasture But No Eagles In Sight 06.12.22

An early evening visit to the nest showed the freshly mowed pasture field and the brilliant greenness the daily rains have brought. The pasture pond is filling up too. But I did not see Harriet or M15 perching in any of the pasture trees and snags when I panned the area. I will visit the nest again in 10-14 days.

:ty: Wskrsnwings---Thank you for visiting the nest site and for the video. It is really too quiet now that juvies are gone. Seems most other residents of the are are gone as well--Just a few ducks, an anhinga, a couple of herons, and sometimes a few cattle egrettes. Guess it's up to Happy Appy and her 2 brown horse friends to hold the fort down for the summer.

:ty: Wings ! It's always great to hear your calm and loving voice. Nice to see the pasture from your perspective ! I didn't see any birdy in the West pasture. I guess it's way to hot and Harriet and M are at their cooler summer home ??
Take care, hope you're having a great summer.

Hello LazyParrot ! Eggbert #1 did not get removed. Would you believe that is another whole nest story? :D
Eggbert was E9's nest mate. :rh: And did not hatch. It would get buried in the nest and was gone. Or so, we thought is was gone. But sweet Eggbert was an aspiring magician. Eggbert would pop up again, and again and again.
Good afternoon, lovinnature, LazyParrot and everyone. Here's a glance back --- New Year's Eve 2016, E9 getting the first feeding while Eggbert waits patiently. Absolutely no bonking in Season 5 (just an occasional cuff with a stick when M15 was messing about with the railings.)

Yeah, looks like E9 stuck one of its big toes in a light socket. I stuck a bobby pin in a lamp socket when I was a toddler and that's how my hair looked (according to my mother). :D

Hi, Suemac. That's a great photo ... they never left Eggbert out of family gatherings. :)

In June, 2017, a juvenile eagle crashed into a Chicago hotel window and ended up in the lobby. It was caught by security guards and handed over to Animal Rescue. That took place six weeks after E9 lit out for the territories. At the end of the article were reader comments. One female reader wrote: "OMG, it's E9 !!!" I nearly fell out of my chair. They should have seen E9 hoofing it down the driveway in front of the big black truck. Might have won a Pulitzer. :D

Hello Sue thanks for tuck- in scap! There was always room for the whole family, in the nest, at the same time, when there was only one eaglet. Eggbert didn't take up as much room as a growing eaglet, :D
I'm on it Sue. been watching and scaping!
Hope you all went outside tonight, to check out the Full Super Strawberry Moon. It is beautiful!! S'caps to follow..... 🌛

:tea: Good Morning. Nice but quiet day on pond again.
Hope it is okay to post link to U-Tube video. This clip is proof that all E20 needed was a stick and "he" could invent an interesting new game. Even E19 and one of those smaller "bomber" birds moved closer so that they could watch the "fence surfing". :D

 LazyParrot! Yes, E20 always seemed to enjoy practicing with sticks and other objects.
This was on the morning 4/28 before both E19 and E20 flew off together.... and E19 never returned.
E20 brought a palm frond from the leaning palm to the cove fence and was playing with it before dropping it.
E19 was thinking of other things.

LazyParrot- What a great video by Saunders Photography of E20's skills.
Another great one displaying E19's abilities:

E19 and E20 were both very skilled and special.

4/28/22 E20 returned from the southwest to the nest after flying with E19.
E20 brought a stick
with her/him- perhaps a way of saying not ready to leave home.
E20 made many contributions to the nest.
When E20 decided to finally leave,
it was to the southwest perhaps that was where E20 last saw E19.
