Well, Suemac, that all depends on what you see. It could be a chirpy eagle or one of the dwarves who accompanied Bilgo Baggins over the Misty Mountains Cold.

Acutally, I haven't seen much of anything since a big storm passed through Monday at 7:00 PM. No internet, no TV, no phone, no pool no pets, don't need no cigarettes. Big sassafras down in the backyard, took out the power and cable lines. Thunder and lightning nonstop from 5:00 pm Monday until 10:00 am Tuesday. All back in operation now, but downed tree still there, awaiting the wood choppers. I wasn't alone; 25,000 homes in my area of town were w/o power, etc. 110º heat index.

 Glad you are okay Grosbeak! Some were a bit concerned about you, esp. since we haven't heard a "peep" from you for a few days.
Will now chime in with what I see. I see part of Snowy Owl, esp. eyes, beak and breast. The faded wood reminds me of snowy owl color--and then there are those big eyes (bolt holes), as well as the wood grain that looks like it is outlining feathers.
Hope you don't have too much trouble putting your world back together. :luck: :huggie:

Fortunately none of my sassafras trees are as large as this one in Owensboro, Kentucky.https://www.flickr.com/photos/21849570@N08/2118830161

Mine are only about 2-ft. in diameter and 60-ft. tall. They look bigger when down on the ground. :(

Earth may be alive: not as the ancients saw her---a sentient Goddess with a purpose and foresight---but alive in the wind, yet endlessly conversing with the sunlight and the soil. Using sunlight and water and nutrient minerals to grow and change. But all done so imperceptibly, that to me the old oak tree on the green is the same as when I was a child. --- James Lovelock

 Lovinnature---the mirrors in the new telescope are interesting. Engineers must have "borrowed" idea of multiple mirrors from structure of bee eyes.
FYI honey bees have 5 eyes---2 large compound eyes on sides of head and 3 "ocelli" or eyes on top of head that are only light sensors.

Great pics, Lovin. I always liked Jimmy Webb's songs. He certainly made a star of Glen Campbell. MacArthur Park, Galveston, Wichita Lineman, etc., etc.

That’s amazing, grosbeak, that poor Dr Webb. But then we get to learn about the Dr Webb the telescope is named for. Thanks for sharing it.
Best wishes,

Peggy :)
