GM! Thanks, sunnybird, for the beautiful s’cap. LP, I couldn’t agree with you more. They keep building in places that are not meant for it. I don’t know what it will take for people to realize. I’m glad you came through so well. Wishing everyone here a happy Sunday!
LP, what’s that human doing there? Lol

Good morning! Finally was able to sleep!
Happy Sunday! Harriet and M15 were in both nests this morning.
Compliments of Saunders Photography live this morning. I included links to his
FB page- not sure if it is public or not. He also has a you tube channel that I follow.
I included that link too below.

Suemac--thanks for the info and links. I could not get into the facebook page and the youtube page I can see but it is not dated. Does this mean that Harriot and M are moving to Nest 2? I hope not.

Here is an email I received from CROW last evening.
Thank you to all who have reached out in concern! As you know, Hurricane Ian brought catastrophic damage to Southwest Florida and our beloved Sanibel Island community. We are thankful all CROW staff members, patients, students, and ambassadors are safe!
Early on Tuesday morning, our staff made arrangements to transfer critical care patients to South Florida Wildlife Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The remaining patients and ambassadors were evacuated with our resident students to a safe, off-island location. Our staff worked heroically over the next few days in their garages, apartments, and hotel rooms under less-than-desirable conditions to provide patient care during the storm.
Student, Casey caring for one of our young raccoon patients
Opossum patients
Volunteer, Jordan helping with a Red-shouldered Hawk treatment
Talon, the Red-tailed Hawk weathering the storm
Wildlife Rehabbers; Bre, Katie, Lilli, & Morgan administering treatments
Common Nighthawk patient in their temporary quarters
After the storm had passed, our staff jumped into action preparing the patients for transfer to nearby wildlife facilities with power and access to better resources. Seaside Seabird Sanctuary said they would take all the animals they could so one of our staff members drove several birds including owls, hawks, and crows to their center in
St Petersburg, Florida for continued care!
Yesterday, via aerial footage, we were able to see CROW's Visitor Education Center, Hospital, and Student Housing buildings were still standing!
We have not yet been able to assess the extent of the damages to our buildings or enclosures, but the fact structures remain gives us hope. Amongst this relieving news, we are heartbroken for our community partners and neighbors who may have lost everything.
Our organization already feels an overwhelming sense of gratitude for all those who have extended well wishes and generous donations for recovery efforts. Without such a strong community, CROW would not be what it is today. Thank you for your kindness.
We are committed to returning to our mission of saving SWFL's wildlife as soon as possible. We are currently working to develop alternate plans for wildlife care while the island remains inaccessible. Though we don't know yet exactly what this will entail, we appreciate your support through it all.

Good morning Lazy Parrot! First, I am so glad you and Sweetie fared well with that nasty Ian.LazyParrot4 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 02, 2022 7:22 amSuemac--thanks for the info and links. I finally heard from my friend in Punta Gorda yesterday morning- all family and friends in Fla accounted for.
The only ones who know which nest they will use is Harriet and M15
(okay maybe Harriet, but M can be persuasive when he wants to).
The fact that they were adding branches to the nest tree yesterday gives me hope. Nest 2 is intact but there is NO shade or trees around it anymore for cover. We will just have to wait and see and HOPE. Praying for cams to be up soon.
