. I believe that I read that CROW evacuated both people and critters to a friendly hotel and most likely will be there for a while. Sanibel Island is pretty much wiped out as are all of the barrier islands along with the Captiva nest.

Vicki is safe and so is Dadsjazz who writes the weekly essay on our eagles--no word from the Pritchetts but they are usually very private. Most of the photographers are just fine and my friend, the teacher Debbie Fortin is staying with one of them. She just moved to Florida and her house got hit :cry1:

Ian is pounding the Carolina shores!
This is the eagle nest of Harriet and Mitch on Hilton Head Island. The nest and tree is rocking!

headed toward North Carolina and Virginia and is still strong with high winds and rains.

Hey Mary F, I found this on the Captiva, Sanibel forum

Update: I was just able to confirm that the eagle nest tree is still standing. I was able to spot the top of the tree from helicopter footage of the area. If the camera panned down 1 inch, we could have seen if the nest was there.

MaryF, Thank you for your update. Aww, MsDebbie. I'm so sorry. Low blow. What would we do without our eagle family? I do hope we will hear from the Pritchett's about their part of the "adventure" someday. They have so much to juggle right now, though. I'm curious about how they dealt with the horses. Just curious. Please keep us posted when you can and send our love to mods and support folks that make this work. Oh, how I hope someone sees H&M soon and they decide to rebuild where we can see them. fingers crossed.

LazyParrot, Suemac, lovinnature, sunnybird, thank you all for the amazing s’caps. We’re all filled with hope that we see H and M soon. I can’t believe they’d let Ian keep them from holding on to their territory.

Thanks to essec and the Pritchetts for the new forum and I hope they can get rid of the nasty bots and shore up security.

It’s rainy in NY but I’m fascinated with the golden tones of sunrise on the MRFWC this AM. Have a great and safe day everyone!
