 Judi & Pat

A friend asked me for a ride today. Took me 20 mins. to scrape the ice from my van as I hadn't been out for a few days due to all the snow and rather chilly -10C with some wind. One of the eagle nests I used to check once in a while is no longer there. I know the eagles were there this summer but now all the trees have had their branches removed. "Progress" :(

Delightful post from Dr. Rogers.....now at least I know what Judy Thon looks like too...since I spoke with her setting up trip to Minnesota.

Scott, keep the faith. I think that is horrible about removing branches from eagle trees (and isn't it illegal?). My beef here is clear cutting which thankfully has stopped but happened for a while. Out trees in The Woodlands make it what it is.

The cold now that is something else....wear lots of layers. Judi, I am sorry about your post, it has happened to all of us at one time or another and then the inspiration is just gone.

So....I will tell you all a funny story as laughter is good. Andi walked over to my husband to get hugged and jumped in his lap. Bill followed suit and then told her "Andi you are young, and you need your sleep, so go over to your bed and go to sleep"......she jumped down, turned around, walked over to her bed and curled up to go to sleep. My jaw dropped.
Good Night all,

Carolyn that is the cutest thing I've heard in a while. I just love dogs

Scott it breaks my heart that the nest trees have been destroyed. Hope the eagles found another in their area.

Judi so sorry to hear you lost your post,

No nest visits today, sorry

Love and hugs to all

Good story and Bill and Andi, Carolyn :mihihi:
I think it is illegal to remove a nest like that too but I doubt the people hired would. Maybe there is a legitimate reason for taking them all down but it was a shock to see.

There are still some tall trees not far away Iona so hopefully the pair will rebuild this spring. :)
They've been slowly clearing all the smaller trees and bushes from that field for a few years now and the land is worth millions.

That's it for today, but there is a problem at Ft Meyers nest, E 14 was bleeding today, and they said she must has broken a blood feather while preening. I don't know when it happened, but I check and she seems to be moving around okay, and is eating, so I hope all is well

Love and hugs to a;;

:brknhrt: :cry1: E14 didn't make it. Crow removed the body and the egg. It was a broken blood (pin) feather, that was the cause of death. Egg was fertile, but never hatched.

So sorry for the bad news. will update if more info is released.

Love and hugs to all

I've enjoyed the cold and snow Naoma. Mostly from indoors. :)
A little more snow tonight maybe then the rains come so they say. It did warm up a lot today to the mid 20's F.

Cute s'caps of the wildlife and E14 Judi. :)

You got me thinking about how long the bear updates had been posted so I dug around a little more Naoma. :)
The FORUM ARCHIVES only go back to 2011 unfortunately and by that I was posting them in 2010. A pity 2009 and 2010 weren't there. Our forum was a little busy back then. :mihihi:
