and West End
The Arizona nest lost their egg to a ringtail Not sure what that is Only ringtail I know of is a pheasant and I didn't think they would fly that high. There is supposed to be a video, but I didn't look for it.
Love and hugs to all

Thanks for the rescue vid and the nest s'caps
Iona. Great that it was fairly easy to put the unharmed eaglet back in the nest.
A ring-tailed cat would be the egg thief at the Arizona nest.
I hope Z's new meds are the solution
Naoma.
Ouch! Hope your hand heals quickly
Carolyn.
Nice to hear Bleu's meds are working.

I had a really good day today.
Carolyn: Take care of that burn! Arnica? Aloe vera? You know what to do.
judiw: I know you care.
Try not to fret. And stick to the private threads okay please.
Love to everyone.

Thanks Lynda....burn healing fairly well. I am treating it with a natural remdy from Alaska, it works and helps. Today was gorgeous in Texas, not as hot thankfully with a beautiful breeze. Even Bleu had a bounce in her step! Good days are always good to hear of....
Hi to all.....I too found the Channel Island video fascinating....lucky eaglet.
Good Night.

I searched for zoomed out pics of the Fraser Point nest to get a better idea of what was around it but didn't have any luck
Naoma.
This is from wikipedia: "On the Channel Islands, where large trees are scarce, bald eagles have built nests on cliff faces, rock shelves and shallow cliffs, as well as in island pines and Torrey pines. One pair even attempted nesting in a grassland on Santa Cruz Island."
I'm happy you had a good day
Lynda.

Hi everyone! If anyone can help with observations, especially for the next week or so, that would be great! Thanks!
Announcement
We are on hatch watch at two of our HWF cam nests, Surrey Reserve and Delta 2 - and we would love to have more people watching and posting observations there!
Surrey Reserve
Today is Day 36 for the first egg - this is our first year watching this nest, so we don't know when their first egg usually hatches, but eagle eggs usually hatch between 35 and 40 days, so we could see a pip (the initial hole in the shell) at any point.

The female is named Res and the male is named Sur - for Surrey and Reserve; there are pictures to help you know who is who in the opening posts of the thread - but at this point we're most interested in pictures of the eggs, especially once a pip is confirmed.
Here is gemini's screenshot of Mom Res turning the eggs from yesterday:
Delta 2
Today is Day 35 for the first egg; the Delta 2 pair often delays incubation of the first egg so both hatch within a day or so - so don't be surprised if the first egg doesn't hatch until Monday or Tuesday or even Wednesday.

The parents are called Ma Delta and Trooper, and there are ID pictures in the opening posts. This is Trooper's first year at the nest - he's been great tending the eggs, and we're waiting to see his reaction when the eggs start peeping and demanding food!
Here is SueB's screenshot from yesterday of Ma with the eggs:
Please join us at one of these nests and help us document the action!
