Philjo, thanks for sharing Desiree's touching slideshow tribute to E14 and H & M. So beautiful. E14 always will be in our hearts. E15 seems as feisty as his/her angel sibling. No doubt we'll see E16 first thing tomorrow morning.

What a surprise at Decorah North to have both hatch so close together.

Lots of eagle babes makes my heart soar.

Chris, love your photo. We know that E14 is still a presence in that precious nest. Congrats to Harriet & M15 on their second clutch this season of sweet eagle babes. E15 and E16 both seem like they will have lots of personality and keep their parents on their talons.

Hello everyone. I visited the nest this morning.

:vid: VIDEO: https://youtu.be/z1sF0_vwGGc

H & M Show Loving Care For Their Miracles: E15/6 days & E16/4 days 04-06-20

This is my first visit to the nest since E15 & E16 hatched. You could feel these beautiful new lives enveloping the pasture. M15 relieved Harriet. She perched in a snag before flying to the nearby power poles. M15 brooded the eaglets, took short breaks above the nest vocalizing warnings to birds flying over and watched the territory closely from a snag briefly. The E's are well loved and well cared for.

Yes, very sudden and sad news at Decorah North.

This information is from RRP's FB page:
Remembering DN11~
3-30-2020 - 4-10-2020

We are saddened to report that Decorah North Nest eaglet DN11 passed this morning about 5:56am CT. He/she appeared to have some sort of obstruction yesterday or looked as if it was attempting to cast a pellet. At 10 days old that is a bit early for pellet casting, but we were keeping an eye on the eaglet all day. Distress was noted early this morning and he/she appeared lethargic and moving slowly with some breathing difficulty, and passed shortly afterward.

Sometimes we don't have a definite reason for an outcome, but we take this time to celebrate the short life of DN11 and remind ourselves that our window into the wild gave us a wonderful opportunity to observe and celebrate DN11's short life and interactions with its sibling DN12 and its parents. Our sincere sympathy to all who follow this family ... we are all grieving with you.

We See The E's Over The Crib Rails!! Dad Feeds Both Well 04-10-20

M15 took over caring for E15/10 days and E16/7 days as Harriet flew to the power poles for her morning break. When H returned, M went hunting and brought back a fresh roadkill cattle egret for the E's consumption. M fed both well. And we were able to see E15 grabbing bites with their head and beak over the crib rails. E16 was seen through the peephole receiving many bites too. H & M remain totally in sync caring for their precious E's.
