I feel bad for national arboretum/ former DC Nest. there is no clutch this year

experts said that it was maybe caused by a female intruder who came to the nest while the first lady was away... and she got stressed about it. mr president still brings sticks to the nest, I feel bad for him.

Hope you all enjoyed Andy Pritchett and his sister coming on a special chat this past week on chat roll for SWFL eagles. They laid to rest some questions we had, and shared a personal part of their life with us Harriet followers. It was quite informative

Sorry to hear about the owls pestering Obey and River. I hate to see them pestering (and sometimes injuring our eagles) However, I am attaching a few photos of the Great Horned Owl we saw just beyond our backyard in the open field. We have often heard a pair of GHO's hooting to each other, but this is the first time we have seen one perched in a tree nearby.

Sad to hear about the President and TFL probably not laying any eggs this year. TFL was seen on Easter morning at the nest; so happy to know she has been spotted.

Glad you liked my owl photos, Pascale.

Can't wait to see an egg on Smola! Elida's 1st birthday celebration was really fun; great to see all the favorite photos and videos again of that special girl.

I agree about BB names; I am not crazy about either one.

9 inches of snow coming to Decorah eagles. Cold windy winter storm. Gonna need those Iowa corn husks to keep warm.

So exciting to the see the first little one at Smola. Great capture, Mimi. Sounds like he/she is a hungry little newborn; 5 feedings today so far, I think.

Eagleslanding, I sure hope they don't get that much snow. Hard to believe since it's in the 60's today in Decorah, but I know that's the prediction. Hopefully, the weather folks are wrong.

I wonder if E13 has flown off to start his new adventure? Such a bittersweet feeling as a watcher who loves to see them. Has M15 been around today? I remember one year where M disappeared for a few days, and it was thought that he was showing the dispersing eaglet the way.

hi Lanie

it's been a shock to see e12 waiting for his brother in the nest... I already miss this little one ! :cry1: .I always stand for the youngest eaglet and though I love e12 very much too... e13 is my favourite :oops2:

If I remember well M15 left shortly after e9 dispersed and yes some people said that he accompanied e9 to show him the way and help to separate from his home :rh:

Hi Lanie and Pascale, I was thinking the same thing. I also remember Harriet disappeared along with E11 the first time we though she had left to start her journey. I’m sad and miss E13, he was my favorite of the two, I think because it reminded me of E9 a little.

Eagleslanding, it is so hard for me to imagine snow in late April...hope for the best for all eaglets and others in that area.

:grhug:
