Thank you Philjo. It was clear to most of us that Fluffy was not doing well, but we had hope. I only pray that he didn't suffer too much. Now his spirit flies forever free. RIP Fluffy. :brknhrt:

Happy that at least 1 of the Melbourne falconets has successfully fledged. From all reports, he has been spotted and seems to be doing well. Hopefully the one who is left will also successfully fledge when he is ready. :luck:

And congrats to you Philjo on your newest grandbaby.

The cycle of life goes on. :grhug:

Yes, we had hope for Fluffy. It is comforting to see all the good wishes for her/him. :brknhrt:
And thank you all for the posts from the last day or so. :cry1:

Good Eagle News!
:eag:
I stopped at my local wildlife rehab center to give them a donation. She is rehabbing another Bald Eagle.
She showed me a picture of the x-ray and it is a small fracture on the small bone near the "elbow". The wing is taped to the body, the Eagle is eating normally. It is so fascinating to be able to see this. After a few weeks of wing taped, then a flight cage to see that eagle can fly normally and catch live prey normally. Oh, the eagle is from about 50 miles away. So not from this area. When time, she will release eagle in the area it was found.
Oh, my donation will buy feeder mice for all the raptors. Yum yum. ;)
One day in the wild . . .

I wish we had such centers here :(
Lucky raptors :)

Orange falcon juvies are flying like big falcons, they stayed 2 or 3 days on the roof of their box, screaming to get food; it seems Gaama is a more skilled flyer, while Budhin crashed his first landing. But both are doing great

I still send a lot of love to little fluffy... little one, might the love of your parents, siblings, and ours, humans, carry you through your journey to the rainbow bridge :rh: :rh: :rh:

California is on fire again...
human losses, houses, buildings, properties, of course, but vegetation, wildlife, too... :brknhrt:
this never ends.
Please, Californian chatters, be safe :rh: :rh:

I don't want to be pessimist but i'm very worried for Flappy, the middle Falconet from Melbourne
It isn't so happy, the same day (Nov 8) it lost its two siblings, Fluffy died early in the morning, and the older 'Flew" fledged and never came back in the nest…. For the first time Flew was there some hours ago...
Flappy is no more so active, and as the little one, it seems to have problem with its eyes too. I don't know how all the things will go... :dunno: Even it seems it stopped growing… It is no more motivated by food...
This is my thought, not from today but already the day after it stayed alone ..... Please just pray for Flappy.
I don't like what i see in it's beak too, may be it's one of the reason,
Sorry for the poor quality of the photos, but may be it's better too

Hi. Rainna aren't you from Wisconsin? I just bought a beautiful apple pie and cider based ham from a farmers market in Wisconsin. Both non-gmo based. And actually I have never had a ham with apple cider base. So looking forward to the holidays and family gatherings and food. Actually could not make a pie like that without spending more for the actual ingredients than the whole pie I bought. It is snowing here already and expecting more snow tonight. And no I do not live in beautiful Wisconsin. My great nephew is a Green Bay Packers fan. He would love to move to Green Bay. Happy everything to everyone.

What is your favorite apple pie recipe or apple recipe or apple place? This is getting to the end of apple time here.

If I could wrap you all in my arms and hold you and take you all away from the woolsey fires. you little rabbits all lined up against the wall in fear from the malibu fires. what happened to you did you get out? those were not normal fires. none like i have seen before not even following a normal fire path. where did you go bunny rabbits?
