NE24 eye looks better now and was seen opened most of the time yesterday.
Keep it up little one - I called him Simone like Simone Biles for his acrobatics due to Mom or Dad kicking the poor one over . This chick is adorable and resilient

DNF laid her first egg today at 1:44 PM! How many more will she lay? She laid two eggs, three days apart, in 2019 and 2020, but moved her first-egg schedule forward from the 21st to the 16th this year. We'll see if she adds a third egg to her laying line-up! She spent the night in the nest yesterday, which is often, although not always, a sign that egg-laying is very close at hand. Congratulations to DNF and mate Mr. North on their first egg of 2021 - and we're all glad you waited for (somewhat) warmer weather! We are so egg-cited for this egg-ceptional event!
Watch any of these videos closely and you'll see her labor contractions. The final push seems to come at 3:51 in the video we posted - not long before she gets up, rolls her egg, and hovers over it. Watch for the sudden sharp push that signals the end of labor.

NEFL Nest
gretchen_AEF#1945 Today at 10:17 PM
NE24 has been stuffed today and sporting a huge crop this afternoon. Observing size this little one looks more like 2 weeks old vs 1 week old! Samson and Gabby seem to be feeding for 2!

Re: The Wildlife Corner
Audubon centre for bird of prey, Bailey home, released this.
This eaglet was rescued after his nest fell apart. Unfortunately his sibling didn’t survive the fall.
So here’s the story - permission granted by Audubon for sharing thanks to them..
I’m still wondering what did the parents and their sibling think about this ? According to the first report all family is ok
New sibling. Who dis?
Photo of eaglets in the nest from tree climber, Jim Lott, who braved high winds and placed an eaglet in a foster nest in Tarpon Springs, on Monday. Fun fact: Eagles will raise young that are not their own.
The little eagle was rescued after it's nest was destroyed, leaving no where for us to return him to. Using EagleWatch data an appropriate foster nest was found for him to go to instead!
Many thanks to our staff for caring and coordinating for this eaglet, and also, Anclote Key park staff, EagleWatch volunteers and the Raptor Center of Tampa Bay. It took a village to rescue, treat and find this baby a new home. We wish the new family well
Our wonderful EagleWatchers have already spotted the parents at the nest taking care of them, and the whole new family seems to be doing well so far!

As the cam is just above the nest, we will have to wait for a good pic
And here it is
Egg#2
I caught it at 17h19, New one Egg2 (the whity one) is at the left of Mom's head and Egg1 (the grey pink dirty one) it at her right side.

Congratulations on all the new eggs:
DN
Notre Dame
I hope I haven't left anyone out.
I just caught this beautiful bird on Mississippi Flyway Cam--real time today.
Is this a Northern Harrier?
Then on the ground below branch--amazing how camouflaged they are.

Oh my poor mom Decorah north
The little big Albatross chick in New Zealand was left alone for the first time in “post guard” stage...
Not even an hour later he was “visited” by a curious juvie who pecked at him , poor little one was scared ! We experienced this last year too but it doesn’t make it easier
Then what a relief for him to see his dad coming back, giving him a great feeding before squishing him. He’s still here.
