Thanks so much Pascale.....I am grateful they could diagnose so quickly and start to save these eaglets. This year has been rough and it would be lovely for a bright spot in it. The reporting is excellent all around, thanks to all of you.

and too bad for those who tell us all day that it is the law of nature, that it is cruel and that we should not intervene, I prefer action to inaction when it comes to save lives.
Even if their eye problem is not due to a human cause, let me finally savor my pleasure. Now I only want one thing, that E17 and E18 can be treated and repatriated as quickly as possible to the nest near Harriet and M15. :luck:

Izzi is a homeboy with great personnality :D e17 and e18 are still under care and doing really better. It’s been 5 days that they were separated from parents.
Bon vent Solly :D
Now they have their separate bed and plate to avoid e17 being too agressive :w00t:

Very good job from CROW but,
:hlp:
For me the separation (one week today) is starting to be too long for both young eaglets and parents.
Today they will have spent more time with humans than with their Harriet and M15 when they are only 13 days old
I wouldn't want an accident to happen on their return to the nest ...

I know with the Covid it began difficult for the laboratory to make other analysis as quick as we want but i :luck: for the result to come bak very soon. :hlp:

How did Brett know there was a problem? D35’s sensor data was static, her location hadn’t changed significantly, and she was too cold. After finding D35, Brett decided to do a wellness check on D36. While he didn’t find D36 that day, further sensor data shows that D36 is healthy and moving well.

From JudyB ..Re Berry Eagles

7 pm
I'm afraid I have sad news - I don't know all the details, but saw on a Facebook page that the little one got out of the nest cup while being fed and ended up at the edge of the nest. It sounded as if the young female may have pecked at it, not recognizing it was a chick - and then she resumed incubating the egg, leaving the chick out in the rain. Dad tried to cover it and may have tried to push it back towards the nest cup, but that didn't work and he's left now, and it's night, and the little eaglet is at the edge of the nest.

This is from 5:39 pm, and from what I read from observers, I think this is Dad feeding the little one, while the new female is working on the nest cup and covering the egg.
screenshot_10.jpg
The eaglet ended up closer to the rails - great energy in such a tiny baby. My heart is breaking. :cry1: :brknhrt:

Congratulations Redding nest !

In Sauces nest (Catalina islands) Mom audacity laid 3 eggs... 2 broke already :cry1: Dr Sharpe thinks that Audacity might have metabolism issues, and we hope 3rd one will be ok. Last year all 3 broke, 2 years ago 2 broke and one chick hatched and fledged. 3 years ago 3 fledged.
It could be DDT too :cry1:

DN12 hatched March 31st and fledged at 70 days old. S/he gave us quite a show after he fledged and before he left the area to explore the world. He was a quick and brave learner and stole our hearts. Safe travels, DN12 ❤.
