In addition, he seems to be doing like a charm and to be well fed. A beautiful one. :huggie:

Condor Cam @CornellCondors
More info from USFWS on Condor #247. His most recent territory is in Lockwood Canyon, which is only a few miles (as the condor flies) away from Huttons Bowl! The interactions we've seen do appear to be territorial, but hopefully they won't deter #1075 from successfully fledging.

On Tuesday, territorial interactions between the Hutton’s Bowl condors and #247, a male from a nearby canyon, resulted in the chick disappearing from the view of any of the cameras. As of the morning of Oct. 13, we have not seen the chick back in the nest cavity.

Condor Cam @CornellCondors
On Wednesday, USFWS and Santa Barbara Zoo biologists located condor chick #1075 in the canyon below the Huttons Bowl nesting cave. They retrieved the chick and transferred it to the care of veterinarians and keepers at the Los Angeles Zoo.
Staff there are still evaluating the extent of any possible injuries and the chick is receiving treatment. Given the events, the Huttons Bowl Condor Cam will be offline for the rest of the season.
It’s a bittersweet ending, but we’re thankful for the field team’s quick action and to our cam partners and volunteers for helping us share the lives of the magnificent California Condor with the world. We will provide updates on #1075’s status as we get more information.

A new Iniko ?

It was and still is nerve wrecking. I hope we have a good sight of both even if I think both were ready to fly !

In the meantime stay safe beautiful juvies ! You’ve been a wonder to watch (except a few days of strong rivalry).

I allowed myself to post on sea eagle cam chat where many people said it was over so they could go to other nests :puzz:
