Dave, undergoing treatment for lead toxicity, eating recently. He has ups and downs, days when he feels better and other days when he clearly feels ill. Holding his food for him seems to help his appetite, and it is an honor to be trusted to do this for him. :luck:

Steve, always looking like he is completely freaked out by the sight of a human! His wing fracture has healed and the pin was removed a few days ago. He has started to fly some, and so far is doing well. He needs some more time to regain muscle and coordination. :luck:

Marlys, waiting for me to leave before devouring a chunk of fish. Her fractured wing is stable and starting to heal. She will have progress xrays in a week to see if pins can be removed. :luck:

We are sad to report that the injuries to Autumn's wing were too severe to survive. The soft tissue of her wing was dying and poor circulation was causing fluid to accumulate. She was suffering and would never have been able to fly. She was humanely euthanized. :( :cry1: :cryhanky: :brknhrt:

Eagle Rescue, salmon river wild
6 oct. 2022 Close up and personal with a bald eagle today, we rescued him on the shores of salmon river, and delivered him to the Mars rehab center. They feel he has a good chance to survive. When it is time to release, we will be bringing him back to Sayward and his home. Thanks to those that helped, frank and faith for supplies and mark baker for hiking in with me through thick brush to help catch, cage and transport him to my car. Update, Oct 7, he passed on last night, R.I.P. Fly high in the forest my friend.
