Hello everyone. I visited the nest this morning.

:vid: VIDEO: https://youtu.be/rQKRHL6HvvQ

A Sub Adult Encounter ~ H&M Protect & Defend Their Nest & Eggs 02-27-20

The eggs and nest were well protected when Harriet vocalized an alert, which brought M back quickly from wherever he was before a sub adult (turning 3?) appeared flying over the nest and vocalizing, as if in response to H & M's warning vocals. Harriet & M15 continued to keep close watch on their area as they incubated and flew around their territory. A Swallow-tailed Kite flying, and a juvenile Red-shouldered Hawk hunting & eating, were also seen in the pasture area this morning.

So sad to hear confirmation of Baroness Barefoot's passing. I am sure she fought hard in order to be abe to return to her Baron, nest, and wanting to continue their legacy with more hatchlings. Sadly, it was not to be. Baroness was a gorgeous WTE, amazing mother, and steadfast mate. A great eagle.

Minna, thank you for your beautiful words and memory of E14 in a heartfelt poem. I could picture our JOY, precious E14, as I read your words.

I found this link on the SWFEC Chatroll.
It warms your heart to see young students take the issue of poison and Bald Eagles and turn their efforts into something positive.
:grhug:

Students took 1st place with their project to stop poison being used at the state level to protect the population of Bald Eagles.

hello everyone

on Dale Hollow chat they said that egg#3 pipped that's awesome! talk about delayed incubation!

I am very proud and happy for Gabrielle and Samson at NEFL. They're awesome first time parents !

... and waited anxiously for SWFEC..
I hope the best for sure :rh: :rh:

I.follow another nest but not eagles... even not raptors !it's the royal albatross nest in New Zealand.
The albatross being endangered there people are intervening a lot during the whole process. surprisingly the adults are very very very kind to humans and let them check their egg and baby - one chick per year who fledge at 8-9 months. the pairs are very devoted to each other..they leave the nest during 1-5 days to.fill in and come back to COG. During each COG they spent till 2h preening each other. these birds are beautiful and their little one is a cutie.

Sad at Sauces nest where Audacity laid 2 eggs - 8 days apart - and each broke. Dr Sharpe the Catalina islands expert said that she might have a condition that provokes thin shell eggs. last year only 1 chick hatched upon 3 and had a hard time hatching - but did ok after.
