Re: The Wildlife Corner
Hello everyone
I have been very busy lately, I enterred a training to change my job and it takes me a lot of time.
I’m still following the nests especially the eastern countries with
1/ Pērle in Anna and Andris Lesser Spotted eagles in Latvia. Another very successful year so far. Pērle will fledge in ~ 10 days
2/ Zenit the golden eagle in Romania. Unfortunately this beautiful baby didn’t always get enough food - honestly I thought we were going to loose him ~6 weeks ago. Now he’s doing great.
3/ Aydar and Aygul in Russia - imperial eagles. Beautiful family and very little sibling rivalry
I also enjoyed a lot Decorah north babies, osplets in France, GSB falcon survivor Chance and seeing Izzi in Australia coming back to his box at ~10 months old is making me laugh and sorry for Xavier and Diamond.
And of course I’m so sad for all the lost babies ospreys pay a huge price once again…
I’m very very careful with WBSE - each season is heartbreaking and unfortunately climate changes impact a lot Australian wildlife once again

Re: The Wildlife Corner
Sad news from Fraser point nest. Mom Cruz has lost her mate. Cp from Sharon Dune Facebook post
Some very sad news at Fraser Point - the male A-64 Spirit was found dead today. A kayak guide found Spirit floating dead in the ocean on the eastern edge of the Fraser Point territory today. He said there was no obvious trauma.
A-64 Spirit was a 2008 hatch in the Pelican Harbor nest and has been the resident male at FP nest since 2012. Spirit paired up with A-49 Cruz (2006 Pelican Harbor nest) and they have raised to fledge 16 chicks during the past 9 years they were together. This is a very sad day losing Spirit and for Cruz who has lost her companion and mate. Spirit's legacy will continue on for generations with all his successful fledglings. RIP Spirit

Toa, young orca, New Zealand
Lost and taken in by the men who waited for the sign of the presence of a herd of congeners to release Him.
He was Nursed, fed, had a few injuries ... the day before yesterday they transferred him to a large pool of seawater.
At 8:20 pm yesterday he passed away despite emergency vets called. No explanation yet.
Here is the ceremony made in his honor - take out the box of tissues
