So sad for Jabu as Nikita his mate, Tankwa and Yôko announced his death a couple of weeeks ago at the La Flêche Zoo :( :brknhrt: :cry1:
Rip Jabu.

It is with deep sadness that we announce that Jabu, our male white lion, left us abruptly a few weeks ago, at the beautiful age of 15 years.
The examination performed by our vets immediately after his death allowed us to understand the causes. The analyzes showed that Jabu's spleen was abnormal and affected by a cancer called "lymphoma". During the previous weeks, Jabu did not show us any warning signs, so it was unfortunately impossible for us to know that Jabu was developing this terrible disease.
Jabu was born in November 2006 and he arrived at La Flèche Zoo in 2008. Jabu has marked the spirits of everyone, generated 21 beautiful births and shared beautiful moments of life with Nikita, his partner. It will forever remain an emblem of La Flèche Zoo and its species. Jabu was an extraordinary lion, with a strong character and very protective of his family. Everyone here knew him and remember many beautiful memories.
To this day, Nikita, Tankwa and Yôko do not seem to be affected by Jabu's absence but we are of course attentive to their well-being.
Thank you Jabu for your beautiful descendants and the beautiful and intense moments that we will all have lived in your company.

yesterday 05-14-2021 at Matsalu National Park, Estonia
Gunnar took EE1 & EE2's lifeless bodies (in fact only their clothes because their souls were already with our Creator.) and handled them with great delicacy. I expected no less from him. They deserved these two little angels. Merci for them.

Modified: Gunnar, Estonian Eagle Club Member said that EE2 had a very full or swollen belly. A huge pellet was stuck in EE1's throat. He said: chick has been trying to regurgitate this pellet long time.
Gunnar took everything from the nest. including the hare carcass. He left the fish behind because they are not toxic.

Hi everyone
Sunnybird, Philjo
Lately we had to let go SWFL Es and NEFL Legacy. All eaglets had issues - eye infection and avian pox, but all went through and grew up strong and left... all pretty early !

I follow a golden eagle nest in Romania (Central Europe). There’s one chick and a beautiful and caring mom. dad doesn’t come to the nest - they installed the cam when the chick was very young  and dad got scared ! But he provides the family...

I’m very careful with this nest due to the story of Klints last year. But it’s difficult not to love them :rh:

In love with Harriett and M Family !
