Hi Laniebelle! You will surely see an Eagle when you do NOT have a camera! ;)
The photos in your mind can still be the best ones you have. Thank you for sharing the eagle sighting.

Thank you Pascale for your updates on Smola nest. I still enjoy your video of #2 telling #1 to "stop it" :D

Dr. Sassy is still on live and Dr Hancock is now joining them. If anyone is interested to see. It is ow 9 PM Eastern time. Tuffy is perched on a branch and they think he may fledge any time. Thanks Pascale.

Thank you Phil for your information and the wonderful tribute to our one and only E9.

It´s so sad when the eaglets die on the nest. We´ll have to wait for the report.

Lannie, sometimes we just have to enjoy the moment with the eagles without being able to take pictures. That´s just how it is.

Tuffy the Hawklet from Redding

Two videos from MsO

Hawklet in Eagle Nest, Redding, CA, 070119
For the second time in 2 years, a baby red tail hawk is being raised in an eagle nest. The person who discovered it has named the hawklet Tuffy. It is already branching, so may fledge well ahead of the eaglets. Taken from a live stream by Dr. Christian Sasse, with his permission.

Hawklet Almost Ready to Fledge, 070119
Breeze came up and the hawklet, Tuffy, showed us his moves. The 2 eaglets must wonder what he is doing, lol. Thank you Christian Sasse for allowing me to film from your live broadcast.

The July 2 total eclipse was spectacular. The next total solar eclipse will also be visible from Argentina and Chile on December 2020.

It is so sad the Roberts Bay eaglets in Canada where spunky grew up are passed on. Hopefuly the dad and mother will stay in the same nest to have many more eaglets. I wonder if spunky is still in the area.
My 2 eagles nests I watch but are not on these forums are doing well this year. One of the nests was on Hancock forums for many years but was one of the many nests they cut off when they updated their forums. Not as many nests listed on the new forums which is sad. I wonder why they took off so many cam too watch.

Some of the nests topic assistants are rude when you post too. Chasing you off. I thought these forums were for everyone. On one forum I won't mention I simply repeated back in a concise form a general synopsis and concern of exactly what they were sayimg. And I got chased off. So it was ok for the topic assistant to say. But when I came on and repeated back what they said. And had the same concerns. I got booted off for repeating their very concerns. Stated it was a research cam site. And could not interfere with the research. But now I see are talking about e9 and stuff not even related to the research or the site. Guess some sites are touchy about who posts. Gives a feeing of unfriendliness.

I remember with spunky every one was commenting on spunky and a very tolerating and friendly site. Even D. Hancock was there for research and C. Sasse. To bad not all sites are as friendly or picky who posts.

I'm sorry to hear that we didn't have a thread for a nest you watch and wanted to post about. Under the "Welcome to the New Forum" area (viewforum.php?f=1) we have a place for members to ask that a thread be set up for them to post about they eagles they watch or a cam they've found or whatever:
20190703_006.jpg

We haven't had many requests there - some folks sent PMs to me or one of the other admins when they didn't see a thread they wanted here. Which nest is it that you watch? Was it Hornby? I had intended to set up a thread for them (they were the first eagles I watched, back in 2006), but it wasn't clear if they were going to nest this year, and things got busy, and no one asked for a thread, so I didn't do that. I'll be happy to set up a thread if you want to post - I understand Em and her new mate have 2 chicks, though I haven't checked on them in a while.

Do you know how they're doing?

Eagleslanding, your updates are welcome here. I read them.
Do I remember that you like rabbits? Well, there are at least 2 in my yard. They like the pears from the pear tree so I see them every evening. They may eat all the pears they want!

:ty: Phil for the great news about the lights. Hopefully they will have Manny there soon...I believe there will be 3 in total and will change positions to make them more believable to the owl.
