What a treat to see both Mom and Dad at Fort St. Vrain eagles nest recently, perching together on their favorite pole. When the two eaglets stood up, we could see them on the nest!

Thanks Philjo, I completely missed that. Glad they aren't killing the eagles. Maybe we have finally gotten to a better understanding of nature.

hi Anuli's mom, I can't open the link but it's great an eaglet could be rescued !

For Dale hollow, didnt they rebuild the nest after last season? they need to take lessons from Harriet and m. well raising 3 very healthy kids might be a reason why it collapses again. that's great the kids are now flying around :woohoo: :thumlft:

About Smola we had a very tough week with lots of rain, wind and cold. on Thursday kids were left alone in the nest for 9 hours under the rain. Second chick was even getting cold, shivering and shaking... I have to say we were thinking we were losing him. it was just 3 days after Cookie death. hopefully his older sibling covered him and protected him the most she could. she even let him eat first without bonking!
yesterday weather went even worse and no food was delivered between 2.00am and 5:30am this morning. Well we had deliveries this morning... and they look great !

Good Saturday Morning everyone.
I so enjoy all of your posts and updates. :)

I just saw this, May 28th update on D27 travels.
D27 Heads North
Very interesting and shows a map of her trips.
She flew almost 200 miles in 3 days.

Scottish trials to stop sea eagles stealing lambs
thank you Philippe.
In Norway we already had 2 lambs brought to the nest, one was probably a roadkill and 2nd maybe miscarriage. one of them was a wild one. 2 years ago they said there was no complaints of local farmers about lambs killing by these eagles. furthermore there's a very old breed of sheeps there which were imported by Vikings!
I completely understand the issue this represents to local farmers and that's why they were all killed at the beginning of 20th century. I hope they can find a safe way to discourage the WTE to hunt lambs

I decided to visit the Hornby Island eagle nest cam again. In 2017 I believe, l watched the nest. They had hatchlings and a young new mom. When she came back to the nest it was unclear what happened. She was very young and the next morning the hatchlings were gone. What did she do. But no eaglets till now. 2 eaglets on the nest on a very tiny island on the west coast of Canada.
Dad Em is still there but a new mom. 2 years and finally eaglets. I reported on this nest so faithfully.
But then the eaglets died. Very beautiful island. But the nest cam was removed from Hancock forums when the forums were updated recently. I wrote in about all the deleted eagle cams and this one but they said they would slowly bring them back in and never did. I enjoyed watching the stork cams of Europe but those cams were deleted with the new hancock site also. And never brought back either.

Now I have to go to hornby island eagles cam and observe them outside of the hancock forum. It is a remote nest and if you wait you can see 2 eaglets heads pop up. Which reminds me I have not seen any postings from Karen Bills of Hancock for a while. She works closely with David Hancock. She posted quite a bit on the different eagle cams. Especially on the Redding California eagles. Hope she is ok. She posted alot on the hawk in the eagle nest. We miss you Karen.
The hornby island eagle nest is off the beautiful coast of Victoria in British Columbia area. Please bring it back on again why didl you let it go? Queen Elizabeth is coming to Canada.
