:cry1: why didn't they try to rescue Melbourne babies... thanks Philjo it's hard to read... I hope SE21 can be treated.
Two/3 anwers, the nest/box is very high, there is no window and may be as soon as the first symptoms appear, it is perhaps already too late... :dunno:

Freezing drizzle tonight and tomorrow. Winter so early all month of November.. So much so I feel we have had all of winter already. And we have December through April yet.

Did not see the beautiful exit of the geese/ducks like normal.

And my neighbors tree across the street did not show its vibrant fall colors this fall. This is going to be a strange winter.
And onward we move toward Christmas.
I wonder how the gooneybirds are doing in Hawaii.
I am not seeing to many birds in our strange winter. Think they are all taking shelter.

How permeable is the egg shell. Permeable to what? Such a delicate thing the egg shell. Oh what can you sense in there little one. If you could see- then you could see daylight coming through the delicate shell. So vulnerable.

hi eagleslanding

I think eggshell is permeable to oxygen and CO2 which allows the chick to breathe and that's why eggs are not covered all the time.
I read that it's permeable to water too- I'm not sure... so the adults must keep.the nest bowl as dry as possible and avoid rain drops on it.
these are tips I read on SWFEC chat ;)
they can be also permeable to pollutants:( or maybe that are polluted while they are laid.or before.

there is no way to tell the feeling I had when I saw a pic of a GHO (THE GHO ?) quietly eating on Steve and Rachel osprey nest... hog island nest where a GHO killed 2 chicks upon 3... the last 2 years, and one was badly injured, Bailey :(

talking about GHO, nor Juliet and Romeo nor Harriet and M have been attacked by one GHO this autumn not yet ??
oh my bad : Juliet was knocked once on Sept 24th 2018

Is this a Convocation of Eagles? :)
How about 2nd scap?

Pascale, yes, this is the cam/audio I was talking about on SWFEC.
Happy you got the message.

It is grey and cloudy here just like MRF cam. But not as cold.

Can somebody direct me to a forum where I can ask about the functionality/options of this site? I've been searching and can't seem to figure it out.🤔

Hello, Fellow Chatters

Gemini, thanks for the mention of the Fraser River eagle tours. I would so love to do this sometime! Can you just imagine seeing thousands of eagles in one place?

Philippe, sorry to hear about SE21's injury.

Sunnybird, I love the MRF cam. The sunrises and sunsets are so beautiful. Do you know that there are several Facebook groups for MRF?

Hi, Pascale and Eagleslanding

I have ordered my Decorah Eagles calendar. Have had one for years!
