one week difference between the 2 nests. As you can see, one egg (nonviable) is still present in each nest.

Hello, Friends

I've been absent from Chatters for awhile. My husband and I spent 2 weeks in France recently, and had a marvelous time. First time there, and we just loved Paris! Such a charming city, and the museums are so impressive. We were on a guided bus tour which took us to many castles, chateaus, churches, and cobblestone streets in the villages. France is a large country, but the countryside is so beautiful. And I never imagined so many vineyards! They are just everywhere. Needless to say, we tasted many types of great French wine! We spent my birthday (Sept 18) in the French Riviera. We went for a swim in the Meditteranean, and the water was still warm. Then, they drove us along the coast which was a beautiful scenic ocean drive to Monte Carlo; that was quite a thrill to see the casino where the rich & famous visit. It was a busy 2 weeks, but we saw alot and it was such fun!

Thanks to Philjo and Pascale for giving some great travel tips about their beautiful country!

I noticed quite a few eagles in sculptures in gardens and in churches. I thought you all might enjoy seeing them.

Yes France is lovely. My niece on the other side of the family lives in Italy. And has worked there since after college. So was easy to visit those areas with a great chaperone.
So far Hurricane Micheal is staying clear of H&M but is so hugging the coast of Florida. It is huge. That season I guess.

Philjo, thanks for the article on the symbols of the empire.

Pascale, I wondered if there were eagles in France. Only the WTE?

Just a Joke Lanie, do you know you have to modify the Hour on your watch, now you are 6 or 7 may be more hour later than during your journey... :mihihi:

I found this link
https://sheffieldperegrines.wordpress.c ... explained/
in the "367 Collins Falcon Watchers" FB page.
the title is "The Fourth Egg Explained" and it is useful to learn more may b about Egbert (so beloved by our little Prince E9) and all the nonviable eggs ...

Speaking of France,
I just saw a program "Wild France" by PBS.
It featured Golden Eagles with nests on the side of mountain cliffs.
Beautiful scenery from the Alps, Alace region and Corsica.
I think they showed Ospreys at Corsica? :osprey:

I am also worried about current hurricane with winds over 140 mph.
Still looking for E9 :rh: October 12, 2019

Coastal flooding and storm surge expected today for Fort Myers . How does the tide and rise in waters along the Fort Myers eagle feeding area affect H&M? Is it harder for H to catch fish? Or does he totally avoid the waterway where he usually fishes as this hurricane streches so far. So sorry for the flooding in fort myers area along the coast. Yes they are getting their nest in order. So good they keep on target. I am sure they sense the immense pressure changes in their area. Thet don't miss a beat. They are so fierce and such raptors.
