Aww, thank you Bev and Jean! Bev, the colors are uplifting. I hope you can tell Jean that I am praying she does well in rehab. There are lots of folks where I go with Andi to do pet therapy in Rehab so I know it's hard work.
hugs,
carolyn

And Yes, I love ice cream. Tomorrow I am going out with family for dinner. :)

You are welcome Carolyn and I sent your message to Jean !

Merry Christmas to you all! I was not home on Christmas Day or after, with our daughter and family and a few others and it was a blast. The kids got a trampoline which took hours to put up but well loved. My entire family will be togther Jan 1-5 before the Orthodox Christmas as some of them went to a youth conference in Cincinnati, led by our Priest Son (teacher, father and priest) partially and thus later all together, but this was great. Even the dogs got to come. The cats got to stay home and "sleep", as they do best.
Now it's partial quiet time before the next influx and fun, lots of puzzles out at all times.

Judy, your pictures are fabulous and I adore Ipcar's picture with Charlie's photography. My husband also does incredible photography...It always amazes me. He loves his retirement for sure. I do my pet therapy at the nursing home and it is so uplifting with little Andi who is a hoot. She is truly interactive with the patients and they love it. Bleu is also retired and she seems to be doing well for an over 12 3/4 year old golden retriever, count my blessings.

Bev, I am glad you are having such grand time with family, as expected. I hope this New Year brings everyone much love and joy and good surprises. :)

Happy New Year to you all....and Bev I just glanced a bit at that, but it was "uplifting", I'll come back. Family is at Cat's house now and we'll join them each day tomorrow (including the dogs!).

Here is a moment of joy for you....I took Bleu into the nursing home for a "surprise" visit as they miss her so (they love Andi terribly too, yet she is different more interactive and Bleu is a Lady stock still). They cried with joy and one amazing lady took some hair to put in her wallet (Bleu sheds a lot, nothing hurt to do that). It is astounding to see the simple joy of just bringing in my gorgerous Golden who is just two months shy of 13. Andi is a hoot and it'll be fun for her to be with the kids.

Much love and joy and kindness.....in this New Year.

Fund Drive for Hard Drives

Good afternoon, everyone! I have just learned that we do not have the hard drives we need to record our cams as we approach little chick time - and we do not have the funds necessary to buy them.

These are the high resolution drives that are connected directly to the cams at the site, making it possible to record high quality videos of events at the nests - and we usually have them up and running before the eggs are laid. As you know, we already have eggs at three of our four nests, and they are likely any day now at the fourth nest - so time is of the essence.

Our tech person Ken is estimating that it will cost about $7000 to buy the high quality, high capacity drives needed for our 9 cams, and while we are keeping up with our regular monthly expenses, we don't have the extra money needed to buy and install the hard drives.

I know this is a hard time financially for many of us, with many businesses closed - but it may also be a time when some of us are staying home and watching the eagles after cancelling planned trips or dinners out - and I'd like to ask those who can to contribute towards these hard drives.

Good Morning and Happy April. Beautiful crocuses, Bev.

Somehow I think it is JudyB's birthday? and David Hancock's? If so Happy Birthday. Our 50th anniversary is Saturday to be celebrated quietly, but with take out dinner from a great place (to keep them running). We cancelled our dinner with adult children and will celebrate with them hopefully this Summer with everyone! All is good.....

In Texas Spring is in full bloom, azaleas have bloomed and were gorgeous. Hibiscus are magnificent, most flowing bushes have flowered, Jasmine about to bloom, tons of roses. Pollen has come and is still here. Trees have leaves, thankfully.

Life is strange and I pray that we will eventually be out of "stay at home" and safe. I walk daily miles and love it, staying away from other people. The area is like a ghost town, restaurants to go only.

Bleu walks just a bit now, at 13 but otherwise doing well. Andi is a hoot, we are so glad we got her three years ago.
Take care, stay safe and love,
carolyn

Funny, I knew it was her birthday before I saw your post Bev! Good communication with me albeit via the air waves

P.S. I have been unable to win in battling the new forum with posting pictures so no pictures of flowers etc. Just imagine please.

Thank you for the birthday wishes, Bev and carolyn - I love the flowers, Bev - and I love the thought of all the flowers you have already, carolyn - we're just beginning to get the earliest bloomers here.

I'm also enjoying daily walks in my small town, and noticed a neighbor's garden by the side of the road that looks as if there may be daffodils beginning to come up - I'll have to make a point of including that on my route!

Charlie gave me some lovely flowers for my birthday - definitely an interesting presentation, with something to see from all sides!

I am wondering what the flower(?) on the top is - don't remember seeing anything quite like that:
IMG_1337b.jpg

We are celebrating with a quiet dinner at home - and with thoughts of going somewhere in a few months when things hopefully settle down a bit.

Happy Anniversary in advance, carolyn - enjoy your dinner!

PS - the new forum software we installed recently made some changes in how photos work - no clue if they make it easier for you.
