Took a late afternoon walk today after family left (our son is going to run a Youth Conference and went home for the weekend prior - our son is a Priest and a Physics Teacher fyi, which would explain the Youth Conference). Several random wonderful folk were standing on corners and gave Andi biscuits! And one came from Scout a rescue dog....it's a delight to have surprises like that.
Much love

Thanks for your post, carolyn - glad you were able to have some time with your family. We've also been able to see some of the nieces and nephews, and spend a bit of time with our youngest great-nephew, who is two now and very active and verbal and loves Charlie's banjo!

A little late, but here's our holiday card:

The scene is the kitchen at Charlie's family farm (probably enhanced a bit in Photoshop), and the raccoons are from his mom Dahlov Ipcar's book "My Wonderful Christmas Tree" (used with permission, all rights reserved), and Charlie put the whole thing together.

One of his cousins took this picture of us at the farm (with the table in its usual non-party position against the wall):

Charlie also wrote a song - The Raccoons Had a Party

Happy New Year, Everyone!

Thank you Judy for posting those delightful pictures of you and also your card. It was fun to read. The song is wonderful and fun.

Bev, sorry you could not all get together, I will hope for end of January. Happy New Year to you both.

We were OK to be all together, no issues. My son's family had just gotten rid of a stomach bug which slightly delayed their trip, yet did not mess things up. It was good family fun - 17 of us in all. Then we had a quiet Christmas just us two, Andi and the cats. Andi just turned 5 which completely shocks us, where did the time go?

Enjoy your rest of the year with love,
carolyn

Bev, that is very interesting. It looks exactly like a bird. What fun.

It went from 80's to 20's here overnight. Today was covering plants, pipes, etc. In Texas the middle temperatures seem to be skipped for some reason. Just joking.....I love the cold actually and so does Andi.
Have a happy day,

We also have hot and cold weather in Maine, carolyn - but it usually takes a lot longer than that to go from one to the other! I like a little of both - but generally prefer medium! :mihihi:

And the icicle bird is great! Thanks for sharing it, Bev.

And Happy New Year to both of you, and anyone else who may be peeking in! These are a local pair of eagles.
Sasanoa_20211229_2436.jpg

And a bonus - I wondered what this was, and took a picture - and it wasn't until I was home and could see it on a bigger screen that I realized it was a bird! I'm thinking some sort of hawk, but don't know as much about non-eagle birds. :)

I think that is a Hawk also ... we have seen one in the trees at the Decorah Iowa nest .... we also have seen eagles fly over our house .. there is an eagles nest in cove up from us ... and ... maybe more than one..

These photos are so much fun. Thank you Bev and Judy.

Judy, we are getting some "middle" temperatures! It's wonderful and Andi, who is now 5 unbelievably, romps. The fur/hair, she had both, goes up in the air and her face hairs flying back, as she chases pine cones kicked by my husband. Everyone laughs when they see her carrying a carefully chosen pine cone, as opposed to a ball, which is of course disposable and replaceable. The only trick is ensuring it does not come into the house and get chewed........not good. Funny though.....
Have a Happy Day,
carolyn
