Evening Nesters :bye 1:

John i hope you change your mind ... we all miss you :cry1:

I have been so busy and in the midst of the activity we have a new grand baby Gabriella ... Denny and Sonya finally got their girl :rh: we are calling her Bella after my Mom. I also went to Edmonton and got certified to do alcohol and drug testing so i will be implementing that service in July.

Doreen I am so happy to see your posts :rh: we have been worried about you :huggie: I am away this weekend but promise to call you when i get home.

Marg thanks again for calling John means so much to us. I am so sad he will not be joining us here ... breaks my heart. It seems like slowly over time our friends are leaving the nest or forum :sigh:

Kay sounds like you guys had a wonderful adventure  Hope you share some pictures soon.

We are headed to the city tomorrow to see our grand baby  and i have a specialist appointment at 1045 am so we have to leave at 530 am.

So glad to see all your posts ... thanks for hanging in there it means so much to hear from each of you ... hugs and love to you all :huggie:

Here are some pictures of Bella

Good morning Nesters I haven't been here for awhile :oops2: This is such a busy time of year with family and bird watching. I have been visiting many eagle nests and most of them have only 1 eaglet. A few have 2 and a few others have not had any this season. Some have already fledged and most others are branching. It won't be long before they have all left the area. Then I will be busy visiting Osprey nests which I need to start doing soon :thumlft:

I'm sad that John has chosen not to join this new forum; I will miss his cheery posts :( I'll keep in touch with him via email.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Canada Day yesterday. We went to the parade in Sidney then to one of the local restaurants for lunch. I persuaded our driver to make a quick stop at the eagle nest in Sidney, where there is only 1 eaglet this year. It was perched high up on a branch above the nest. This is the same nest that had 3 eaglets and the little Red-tailed Hawk Spunky last year.

Our beloved Pa Sidney has a new mate this season and they have 1 eaglet in the old snag nest. We think it is the result of a 2nd clutch as it is still quite young. It was flapping its wings the last time I was there; wings that were too big for it and it nearly fell over face first  Here are a couple of photos of the eaglet taken on June 27, and our beloved Pa, taken June 20th.

Deb congratulations on your new granddaughter Gabriella :woohoo: She was a big baby and sure has a lot of hair  I have been following you on Facebook and have seen all of your photos. I love the ones of the boys holding her. I hope your leg is OK :luck: Sounds like you had a wonderful time visiting with your sisters; it's the best kind of fun reminiscing about all your childhood activities and memories you share :) Congrats on your certification :thumlft:

Doreen I'm sorry to hear you have had such a stressful time the past few months and I hope you are feeling much better  It was wonderful to come here and read your posts; so happy for you that you didn't have to endure the additional treatments :thumlft:

Marg sorry about your Stalashen nest; it's always so sad when the eaglets don't make it for whatever reason :( Hope you and Earl are keeping well. Thanks for calling John and letting us know he won't be joining us here on the new forum :(

Diana hope you are doing OK and managed to enjoy Canada Day :huggie: It doesn't seem like more than a year since your beloved hubby passed away; time is flying past.

I'm still going through all of my cruise pictures and gradually sending them off to be printed. They are still waiting to be put into albums  I will eventually get around to it, once the eagle watching season has ended.

Sending hugs to all my Nester friends :grhug:

Evening Nesters :bye 1:

Sad news; I was unable to reach Doreen by phone so tonight i contacted her son.
Unfortunately, Doreen fell down on Saturday broke her hip and she had hip surgery yesterday (July 8).

I just spoke to Doreen on the phone for a few minutes ... Doreen sounded good and her humor was intact  Doreen said the pain was absolutely excruciating at first and she could not even weight bear at all but since she had surgery it is slowly improving. I told Doreen we would be forming a circle of prayer for her ... praying for her speedy recovery :rh:

If all goes well Doreen may be discharged home by the weekend.

Doreen if anyone can recover quickly it is you my friend ... Go Doreen Go :rh:

So please join me in keeping Doreen in your thoughts and prayers.

I will let Doreen's friends at EA know and John as well.

Hope all our other Nester's are doing okay :luck:

Hugs to you all :huggie:

Debs thanks so much for keeping us updated on Doreen's health. I'm sorry to hear she has broken her hip :cry1: After all she has gone through she sure didn't need more pain and suffering. If you are talking to Doreen please tell her I send positive thoughts and lots of hugs for a speedy recovery :huggie:

Morning Nesters :bye 1:

Marg, Kay thanks i will pass along your best wishes to Dee when i call her tonight :huggie:

Hope all our Nesters are doing okay. I have been pretty busy this summer and with my sister visiting we have gone out on some adventures too. We went to Hay River last weekend to the Fisherman's Wharf and we did some fishing too (no bites except for mosqitoe bites :mihihi: ). We visited one of the bald eagle nests that i have visited and reported on for many years ... its right close to the Great Slave Lake and the nest has not been re-built (down likely from a wind event earlier this year) hopefully they rebuild next year. Darryl and i walked into the second nest ... had to walk in a cut line right thru the bush and Mom was perched very close to that nest so i expect there is at least one chick in the nest but we never saw it. The bugs were pretty bad so we only stayed a few minutes i do have pictures on my camera. Mom would not be there otherwise so i am pretty confident there was a chick in the nest. I likely will not get to the nest again till post fledgling :w00t: as i have a busy schedule working and playing. If all goes well we will visit Teddy and family in Ontario the first week in August and we have floor seats to go see Taylor Swift in TO ... Presley is pretty excited about that.

Now off i go to shower then head to work. Dee, Marg, Kay, John hope you are all doing well

John i hope you know you are very missed here :huggie:

Hi Debs, thanks for your update. You are a busy lady. :)
Mosquitoes: many years ago my sister and hubby were visiting and we went through Siccamous on our trip to Calgary and Banff area and she said "if we are coming back this way then I'm not coming"! There were so many mosquitoes and we all got bitten.
Enjoy your family visit Debs.
Hope all the Nesters are fine. We have a cooler day here today.
I still see one of our Stalashen eagles around the nest.

Update on Doreen

Good News :announce:

I spoke to Doreen last night and she is home :hooray: and Dee is so thankful to be home. These past few months Doreen has been in the hospital more then she has been home so you can imagine how happy Dee is to be home!!! Despite the hip surgery Dee continues to struggle with pain and mobility issues :cry1: but Dee is confident things will improve with time. Nurses are visiting and there are some really good friends that live in her park and they visit often too. Hopefully Dee will be on the computer again soon and she can update all of us on her progress. Doreen asked me to update her EA and Nester friends so all of you are in her thoughts and prayers.
We talked for quite a while and there is no question Dee's humor is in check and we enjoyed many belly laughs too :rh: I always feel so inspired after talking to Doreen her sunshine prevails despite the many health challenges she faces

Marg love your mosquitoes story :mihihi: Glad your eagles are still around that is a good sign.
Kay hope you are doing okay.
Doreen we are all storming the heavens praying you are feeling better soon and that your leg pain is gone soon :luck: :grhug:

Sure missing John here :cry1:

I best get to work teaching First Aid today its day two. Tomorrow we are packing up and heading to the city then off to Toronto to visit the grandkids ... will try to post before we leave.

Hugs and much love to all our Nester firends :bye 1: :huggie:
