Sea Eagles at Australia nest.
Re: CHAT-N-BOBBLE
These birds are so pretty. Stop finding new stuff for me to watch! I saw the date stamp, and I'm like, "Hey, this isn't live! This is from June." And THEN I realized, "Oh, other countries list the DAY first THEN the month." Are we the only country that does month 1st then day?LazyParrot4 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 05, 2022 11:24 amSea Eagles at Australia nest.

I have so many open tabs on my phone for all these different nests. Victor's home nest at Frasier Pt is quiet. Catalina West End is devoid of fledglings, but Momma (?) has shown up at the nest site the last 2 days and stayed there for an hour or so each time (looking for her babies?). Yesterday she ate lunch there by herself. Catalina Two Harbors had visits at both on- and off-nest sites yesterday. Very squawky. And Decorah north kids are still around and amusing and so loud....
Also, does anyone else think "feathered pantaloons" when they see the birds' legs?

Laura G.--- I've always thought of fuzzy sweat pants, but "feathered pantaloons" sound so much better.

Despite the variety of date formats used around world, the US is the only country to insist on using mm-dd-yyyy.

Re: CHAT-N-BOBBLE
Thanks Laura G on the Victor update. I am loving all the different nests.
Lazy Parrot, I have been watching our white-bellied sea eagles.
Since they are in Australia, I think we should call them leg feathers " bloomers down under" (groan)
Glad you got your internet back. Missed your morning posts.

Looks so dark at the Sidney nest even around noon. We are so accustomed to year-round bright sunny days here in Florida, that the contrast is notable. Remember seasons reversed "down under".

The original Rumble at the Pond sans musique https://youtu.be/97ALw4CoLck occurred the previous year between E12 aka The Pond Princess who attacked even H & M if they ventured onto her beach. The word was plain as day: Don't Go Near The Water!! No eagles were hurt in the making of that video either, incredible as that may seem.

Re: CHAT-N-BOBBLE

Hot and humid with pop up showers here in NE Ohio. A root beer float sounds good.

Not sure about putting toes in ice water though.

Mississippi River Flyway Cam:
Bald eagle on left flies in with a fish. After eating bald eagle puts his talons in water and gets a drink. Maybe he/she wiggled his/her toes.

Re: CHAT-N-BOBBLE

Not sure about the elusive eagle spirit, might need Grosbeak to look with his eagle eyes.

5/19/22 I believe this is M15, but look to the far right to see Harriet hidden. 5/19/22 M15 in office oak. 5/22/22 Harriet and M15 in office oak together. The perfect place to watch for E20 should SHE return,
but that didn't happen.

Re: CHAT-N-BOBBLE

Still haven't found any info on sea eagle tongue barbs---maybe they don't have them. However, if you ever get an opportunity to observe please let everyone know.
Look at that "blob" of a mother sea eagle at night. If I hadn't looked at a lot of eagle pics, would never know what that is.
Re: CHAT-N-BOBBLE
Thanks, LP, but that ain't it. The Eagle Spirit tree is in the cove. Your s'cap shows H or M perched in the Pond Oak with the Leaning Palm in the foreground. The Eagle Spirit tree is well back in the cove, at least as far back as the string of lights. The tree is similar to the Office Oak and on the tree's trunk at the juncture of a large limb (similar to the "overhang") is the image of an adult eagle head and neck, just as clear as a portrait.LazyParrot4 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 06, 2022 9:40 amOh Look Sumac, Lovinnature, and Grosbeak. I've spent quite a lot of time looking at several seasons' forum to no avail. I must have seen it on the live pond cam.
I do so appreciate everyone keeping an eagle eye out for it, and so I have this little memento for you.

Lazy Parrot- meet Arlie! Arlie is a lesser spotted eagle. This was from 2013.
I couldn't find any info on the lesser spotted eagle's tongue, but as I expected they do have tongue barbs.
Arlie is a perfect model. I also attached some info about Arlie and his migration pattern his first year.
