Hello peeps! update on Malala the red tailed hawklet. They returned at 6:08 pm. just caught a quick wingflap in very bottom left of view. Was not even sure that's what it was. Then they flew to what looked like back of nest. Maybe into the below level?? Sure enough Malala popped out of the front middle of lower level of the nest. 6:16 pm. (Center screen) :D .
Got a little tied up in all the branches, but found it's way back up to the nest. :bravo:
In the mean time Jr. is having a hissy watching all this. And an adult is eating. Malala gets to nest and starts crying for food too. The adult seems a bit confused. " Yes you were here and then you were gone? Not sure if I should feed you" It only took 1 minute and Malala started to get bites of food. Malala finished some nestovers and looks like they may stay the night. Be safe you two.
Sure I wish I could read birds minds. Because the expressions on their faces, (head tilts) way priceless !
Bonus, I would know what Harriet is thinking !

.LadyHawk made a video of Malala returning to the nest just about 12 hours after she left.

GROWLS Eagles ~ Hawklet Malala RETURNS SCREAMING To Eagle Nest❗❗ Welcome Home! 💕 6.25.22

Lady Hawk writes-----

It is simply the most amazing story that is still unfolding before all our eyes! This morning the red-tailed hawklet Malala fledges the nest and is gone the entire day. Twelve hours later, we hear the hawklet screaming loudly as it is seen below the nest on the lower left hand corner. Malala continues to scream as it makes it way climbing up the branches of the nest as both Junior and Mom watch in amazement (3:30 timestamp). Malala makes it triumphantly back to the nest, mantles and then demands to be fed! Mom obliges and feeds the hawklet as Junior watches its nest mate eating. Malala is very hungry and continues to eat even after Mom leaves. Tonight Malala will sleep well with a full crop after a very exciting day! Welcome home! ♥ Thank you for watching!
