I had fun watching the Purple Martins at Goldstream Marina yesterday. There were at least 30 adults and approx. 10 young ones flying. The volunteers for the BC Purple Martin Recovery Program had been there on Sunday counting the birds and checking the nest boxes. I couldn't keep track of them; they were flitting in and out of the nest boxes, bringing food for their babies. It was reported there were still 10 eggs that had not hatched yet.

I visited Beacon Hill Park on June 10th with my birding partner to see the Barred Owl family. 2 very cute fluffy owlets were flying back and forth from branch to branch while their parents perched nearby.

This was Dad perched on the fence near where the owlets were perched in the maple trees.
