The nest is looking really good; they’ve worked hard. :luck: For eggs this season.

So two scap's. One from August 20 2021 after the collapse of the nest at NA and one from today December 10 2021.

Mr. P and V5 have done it. They have repaired the nest and are now starting to bring in nesting. :hooray:

Does anyone here has a clue about female V5's possible age?
She has dark tip tail - and dark spots higher up, you see when her wings are out. I am unsure if that means she is a 4 year old, or not. Anyone?

Ferenz, it seems I read on the NA chat that last year it was speculated she was probably too young to lay eggs but maybe 5 this year?

Good morning all

Read this early morning at NEFL-Chat

Woo_AEF — Hier à 16:06 Congratulations to DC nest from NEFL on the naming of V5. From FB nest cam live… AEF - NADC - They say bald eagles’ mate for life, and for the most part that is true but as we have witnessed via our Live HD Cameras - sometimes, they don’t.
As much as we loved having The First Lady around, we recognize the fact that she is not returning, and Mr. President has chosen a new mate. We will cherish the time we had with TFL; she had such a powerful, beautiful presence.
Each bird we watch is unique and therefore this new lady needs a name all her own.
V5 has truly earned her new name, Lotus, short for Lady of the United States, but also for the beautiful flower. The lotus flower is a symbol of purity, rebirth, and in Greek mythology, it induces an unwillingness to depart. This is our new lady in a nutshell!
