Washington DC

Currently 96 degrees.....Yikes.
Victor and Valor trying to stay in the shade. Both with mouths open trying to stay cool.
I feel sorry for them. No where to hide.
Hope The First Lady drops by with some nice fish.

Washington DC

Victor and Valor close together with wings spread for cooling and mouth open.
One or both calling out.

2:33pmThe half-hidden eaglet that is closest to the adult had been self-feeding but walked away. Then the adult landed and the same eaglet "ran" (scurried quickly) back to the same spot and began squeeing furiously to be fed. The other eaglet made its way over in a more dignified manner. :)

If the adult (probably Mom) doesn't pull off bites fast enough, the eaglet will give the fish a tug. Mom has a stronger grip than the eaglet.

The other eaglet was enticed over with a few bites, but is no where near as hungry as its sibling.

I am assuming by the size and amount of squeeing, that the very hungry eaglet is Valor (DC7)

2:51--all is quiet at the nest. Fish has been eaten, Mom flew off, good size eaglet crops.

Washington DC

One of the eaglets branched. May have happened before but did not see anything posted.
Looks very comfortable with his/her left leg hanging.
Happy July 4th.

:woohoo: :woohoo:

:)
I assume that DC 6 Victory is on left on higher branch and DC 7 Valor is wingercizing on nest.
Both waiting on the next fishy? :fish:
