DC 6 arrived on the 25th of March 2018.
Any predictions when we shall see an egg this year.

Sandy, according to the Event log TFL and MrP were together early this morning.
Happy to hear Mr. P and the First Lady were spotted together. I do hope things settle down at the nest and we see a couple of eggs soon. I remember last year they had problems with eagles approaching the nest and things quieted down after a while.

Enjoy your day.

Hey just read the Event Log and happy to read Mr. President and the First Lady are doing quite well.
Hoping to see a couple of eggs soon. :luck:
So nice to see leaves appear on the trees.
I live in Newfoundland, Canada and I have a feeling it will be awhile before we see leaves though the sun is shining every day.

Washington DC

Another quiet day at the nest except for the birds singing near by.

Good morning and Happy Friday

At the moment I cannot access the Event Log because of firewall restrictions on this end.
I was wondering has anyone seen The First Lady over the past few days. I check when at home but no such luck.

Concerned

Sany--I checked the log just now (Sun. 3:05) and read that TFL was last seen April 12 at 9:31am as she flew from the tree. Two hours earlier there had been a mating, but TFL didn't move her tail out of the way, so the mod doubted the mating was a success. I also check in at the HD on Tap site where there are people posting there. Again no sighting of TFL since Friday, and some are expressing doubts that there will be any eggs this year. So sad for MrP.

This is sad news. I hope they are wrong. Mr. President and the First Lady are quite the team. Loved watching them the last two seasons. Maybe there is still time.

Washington DC

So with the First Lady on sabbatical will Mr. President find a new mate?

Washington DC

Except for the sound of the wind blowing the leaves; it is pretty quiet.
Watching the First Lady and Mr. President for a couple of years and this is disheartening.....
Oh my.

Good morning Washington DC

What a beautiful day and so nice to see the leaves, flowers and hear the birds signing.
Wish Mr. President and the First Lady were at the nest incubating a couple of eggs....
Oh well, maybe its not to late.

Washington DC

Just checking in and no sign of The First Lady or Mr. President. My hopes for seeing a couple of bobble heads at the nest are fading.

Maybe next year. Beautiful nest.

Hi Sandy, Kimf and all! I'm trying to catch up on what's been happening on some of the nests I haven't had time to watch this year, and saw in the Event Log that Mr. President and The First Lady were both seen on the cams on April 21st; it was reported that Mr P may have been interested in mating, but TFL wasn't - which does suggest to me that for whatever reason, they have indeed moved past any reasonable window for having eggs this year. :(

As I mentioned, I haven't been watching - but from what I could see here and in the Log, there didn't appear to be any major event that disrupted them - is that your impression too, or did I miss something? There were occasional intruders around, but that's true at many nests, and from what I read, it didn't seem to be an ongoing issue. Of course we aren't eagles, so there's no way to know what they were thinking.

And it looks as if the cams were off until February, when they would usually lay eggs - so I guess we don't know what might have been happening before then; there could have been some disruptions in late January that got them off their usual course. And that's something we'll never know.

It appears that Mr. President is still doing some work on the nest, but it may be more of the post-season wrapping things up, even though it's early. I wouldn't want to see eggs this late, knowing how hot it will be in a few months - but I am hoping things will be back to normal next year.

Hi Judy! I didn't watch religiously, but I did keep up with the event log and comments on the HDonTap site that also streamed. Seems to me that TFL just wasn't interested in nest building or even staying in the nest. The other female eagles at other nests I watch were more active in the nest prior to their egg laying. Hopefully this is just an off year for TFL. I was wondering if MrP will still consider TFL as his mate for next year. Hope so.
