Duke Farms NJ Eagle Cam 2023-2024

Banding is finished but neither Mom nor the Male has yet to return to the nest. Fish was left in the nest and both have tried self feeding

The banding team visited the Duke Farms nest this morning and both chicks are back up in the nest and doing well. Measurements were taken that helped to determine that both chicks were male. The smaller male was banded with green NJ band H44 and his older and larger brother is H45. More info and photos will be posted on the CWF Duke Farms Eagle cam page.

From here on the eaglets will be referred to:

Eaglet 1 or E1: H45
Eaglet 2 or E2: H44

So my worries that Mom or the Male might not return right away have been relieved as Mom returned tonight to feed the eaglets the fish that was left. Back when H17 was band Mom didn't return for days and with a new Male it did concern me. I am glad she has come home this time.

Day: Areas of frost before 8am. Otherwise, it is sunny, with a high near 63. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

Night: Patchy frost after 3am. Otherwise, it's clear, with a low around 34. Northwest wind around 5 mph is becoming calm.

Day: Patchy fog before 8am. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 84. West wind around 5 mph.

Night: Patchy fog after 2am. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a low around 55. Southeast wind around 5 mph.

These two are doing great. Both are nearing branching now as they do wingers and hoppers. I predict the cam will be pull out soon so we will see the branching

This morning it is a foggy and wet morning as we can see the nest and the eaglets all are damp. They wait for breakfast
