E23 made two separate trips to the pond today! In the first visit, E23 just got toes in water and took some sips. E23 will do some bottom sipping before flying off to the office oak.

Later, E23 is on the attic and flies to the pond. E23 will do some bottom dipping, wing dips, and dunking in the water - almost completely submerging under the water. E23 then had enough and flaps out to the pond back - E23 flies to the front pine and perches there before making its way up to the attic. E23 gives some cute closeups today! Thank you for watching!

This is one smart fledgling/juvie, our E23!!! It seems liked E outsmarted the owl tonight!!!

2 ow are buzzing all around the tree (they are very fast and not caught in scaps often!)

E23 was up on the east treetop perch at night and was moving around the branches. The owl family were out tonight and were doing some flybys. E23 sees an owl coming and flies off of the treetop avoiding a strike. One owl flew to the east, E23 flew east and another owl flew east in pursuit. E23 circled around the front pines and back to the veranda tip safely. An owl is seen coming at E23 from the west but E23 drops to the nest in time. E23 will lie down and rest but I saw at least two owls (owlets) buzzing the nest after E23 returned so the owl family was out and active tonight. In regular time and slomo! Great job E23 for avoiding an owl strike or strikes tonight!!

The winds really have picked up tonight and E23 did perch on the veranda but is lying in the nest at the time of this video being published.
