1115 Adult eagle to upper perch with vocals-maybe F23.

1128 E23 flies east and back to playing hide and seek.

Hello everyone. I visited the nest this morning.

Comfy As Can Be ~E23 Relaxes On House Roofs & Glides Over Utility Lines 03.26.24

E23 was perched on the veranda branch when I arrived this morning. Shortly after 7:00am E23 was in the attic and then hopping through the nest tree branches before flying across the road toward the subdivision by Yonder pond. I was impressed by E23's confidence, strength and flight maneuverability to see and fly above the utility lines and then spend time on a residential roof taking in "the sights". E23 flew down into the development and then returned to another house roof, watching the area. E23 returned to the nest tree with a crow 'chasing' him/her, once again maneuvering the lines well. Around 8:15am E23 flew to the DSPS (drive side pond snag) and tracked one of the adults flying to the NW before flying to the office oak. E23 already skims the pond for any activity as if he/she is starting to see the pond as a food source. While E23 perched in the office oak, M15 & F23 were seen perching on the NW power poles behind the office. Shortly after 9:00am one of the adults was seen flying the west pasture tree line again back across the road south. E23 flew to a front drive side pine tree to watch for a sighting of F or M. E23 is 86 days old today. There is also footage of the adult Loggerhead Shrike foraging for his fledglings, and one was eating a lizard/anole on a tree root. A Red-bellied Woodpecker and Northern Flicker were also seen in the pasture.

Fly-hopping with an audience

E23 is having the time of its life! At 83 days old, E23 has discovered the pond and made it into the water to take its first official bath! YAY!

E23 flies to the pond while F23 is eating a fish on the bank. E23 then fly hops up the bank playing and runs to the water & looks at its reflections & turns around & goes up the bank. E23 finds a stick and drags it with its talons and runs back to the water and bottom dips in the sand! E23 will put its toes in the water testing it out, takes a few sips and then real bottom dips! E23 will do wing dips and head dunks, splashing around and even just soaking in a Calgon moment.

After E23 was finished with its bath, it flaps up the bank and over to Mom and does more hop flaps to the cement pipes and blocks. M15 is on the DSPS watching E23 having fun and he flies to the pond to have a sip. E23 rushes over mantling at Dad lol E23 will then fly back to the nest and dry itself off and preen until squeaky clean! What a great day for E23 and Mom and Dad too! Thank you for watching!
