1506 Anhinga grabs another fish and swims to under the overhang tree with it.

1507-1508 Anhinga bangs fish on tree limb trying to get fish off beak.
then oops! The fish gets away and the anhinga dives after it.

If at first you don't suceed, try, try again....

E23 finds a treasure and keeps it from Mom! Then it's off for more adventures at the pond.

E23 was in the church tree and flies to the nest. An intruder (looks like a vulture) is seen flying and circling above - E23 flies off the nest and goes to the ground and finds that piece of fish that F23 dropped yesterday and takes it back to the nest! Foodie F23 sees the food that E23 got and she flies to the attic! HA!! E23 was not going to let her near its fish!! If you recall, M15 brought E23 two fish yesterday and E23 was not around so F23 was there to claim them. On the first fish delivery she ate some of the fish and then flew off the nest with it and dropped it as she went to the pond. So I think this was the remainder fish that E23 found!

E23 eats the fish and then flies off to the office oak - followed by shrikes. E23 will fly off over the water and swoop low as if a fishing attempt and then head to the pond for a foot soak. E23 will bottom dip, pick up a stick and run along the ponds edge before flying off.

E23 is found on the U branch and flies to the church tree - and perches next to a parent - I think M15. M15 will fly off and E23 will fly off to the office oak. E23 will fly off to the west and a parent will fly off from the same spot and head east. E23 could have seen M15 with food and followed. Thank you for watching!

Friday (05-03-2024) afternoon E23 paid a visit to the nest after being out of sight for most of the day. The Loggerhead Shrikes were relentless in their attacks and E23 gave up and left--but not before making one grab at a shrike.
