SWFL Eagles ~ The Tale Of The 2 Fish & E23's Dracula Moves At Mom & Dad At The Pond 3.23.24

E23's pond adventures continue! But first we have to know the tale of the two fish and how they got to the pond! F23 flies to the nest with a whole fish and waits for E23 to fly in and claim it. The cam pans over to the church tree where E has been perched for some time. F23 starts to nibble on the fish while waiting.

M15 flies in with a partial fish and F23 immediately takes it and flies off the nest with it to the pond to eat. M15 is left waiting for E to come to the nest with F23's fish lying there. F23 starts to eat the fish when E23 flies to the ground right at her, mantles and takes the partial fish & walks up the grassy bank. M15 flies over with F23's big fish and brings to the ground and E23 runs over and mantles it, M15 goes to the pond to take a sip - happy he brought the fish to E to eat.

But F23 is not about to let two fish just lie there so she goes to the partial fish but E runs over mantling at her Dracula style claiming that one too.
F23 runs to the water next to M15 - E23 has both fish!

E23 now runs to where Mom and Dad are but stops at the water and just watches them. E23 left both fish behind. M15 goes up the bank to get F23's fish and E23 mantles & does the Dracula walk but both fish were lover to the right of them. F23 knows where the fish are and heads to the fish but E23 runs over to her mantling Dracula style. F23 picks up the fish but E23 takes it and turns around going up the bank. E will play with the fish and hop around with it, F23 starts eating one of the fish. E23 finally eats the fish happy. E23 will carry the fish in its beak and show it to Dad then will eat it - very proud of itself. So E23 got a fish, F23 got a fish and M15 just watches them eating

When E23 is finished with the fish, E will fly over the pond and back up to the attic! And that is saga of the two fish! Both M15 & F23 are teaching E23 how to claim food and protect it on the ground so it wouldn't be stolen. They were being very generous in their training - if they wanted the fish themselves they would have taken it. F23 only ate after E23 claimed one fish and was content eating that one. In the upcoming weeks, E23 will learn to claim the food and fly away with it to eat - which is essential so it does not get stolen by another eagle. Thank you for watching!
