0956 E23 abandons the food and goes to the porch.

0958 F23 drops to nest and takes the food

0958 A little back and forth with the rabbit.

1000-1002 F23 defurs some and gives a few bites to E23,
then goes to veranda, and then to inner limb to feak beak.

1005 E23 nibbles on the rabbit with little success. E23 abandons the rabbit again
and goes to the porch

1008 E23 flies off porch and to the DSPS.

1011 E23 flies across the pond and up toward the office oak.

1052 E23 leaves the office oak and flies to the swinging outer attic branch.

Hello everyone. I visited the nest this morning.

E23 Hunts!! ~Finds "Forgotten" Pelt ~Flies w/New Food To Church Tree Then Nest 03.28.24

E23 made an early flight from the attic to the front snag, to the west pasture and back to the front snag. E23 eyed a "forgotten" pelt on the ground and flew there. E23 ate from it, carried it and then explored the driveway and west pasture before flying to the DSPS (drive side pond snag). E23 watched the area and flew across the road when He saw F23 flying in the distance. E23 then followed Momma back to the nest hoping for food but she brought nothing edible. Later E23 flew across the road out of sight. E23 returned to the nest tree later watching again for F23 and/or M15. M15 did not disappoint, delivering a rabbit to the ground by the pond. E23 flew there and claimed it. E23 then flew with the rabbit to the church tree where both adults joined E23. I guess E23 did not want to share

and took the rabbit to the nest tree, then nest to eat. What a great day watching 88 day old E23 grow stronger and smarter in survival skills.

E23 flies to the pond

From Lady Hawk --- March 25, 2024

E23 can't stay away now that the pond has been discovered! E23 will fly from the DSPS to the water's edge and look down at its reflection ♥ Who is that looking back? E23 will find some pond debris (leaf) & pick it up and play with it and dunk in the water. Then it is time for bottom dipping again and some wing dips. E23 heads to the palm base and then comes back to the water for more bottom dipping & back to the palm base. E23 is all over the place!

E23 finds tree bark and grips it with its talons and does flap hopping with it. The E23 finds a stick and grabs it with talons and drags it around, ends up stick surfing with it and getting air and dancing around the grassy bank. When E23 is finished with is stick play, back to get sips and then take a real bath by dunking itself in the water and splish splashing around! E23 has become the cleanest juvie in the area! E23 then flies to the office oak to dry its wings. Thank you for watching!

e23 brought a catfish to the nest...not sure how s/he got it, though.

1:55...e23 to nest with catfish...squees & mantles

moves catfish and starts eating

2:12... F23 comes to nest...e23 and mom have a back & forth with the RK rabbit pelt.
2:14...F23 leaves
2:18...e23 leaves

rabbit pelt and catfish tail in nest...e23 did a great job on eating that catfish.

E23 made two separate trips to the pond today! In the first visit, E23 just got toes in water and took some sips. E23 will do some bottom sipping before flying off to the office oak.

Later, E23 is on the attic and flies to the pond. E23 will do some bottom dipping, wing dips, and dunking in the water - almost completely submerging under the water. E23 then had enough and flaps out to the pond back - E23 flies to the front pine and perches there before making its way up to the attic. E23 gives some cute closeups today! Thank you for watching!
