Sad Morning everyone… Bonjour Philjo
Philippe, thanks for coming in last night/morning. It is very comforting knowing you were here with our sweet B17 in it’s last hours. I hope you are doing better and by the time we have new life here, you will also be healed.

For those just stopping in, Our precious 15 day old B17 became critically ill yesterday and passed away during the night. RIP sweet B17, soar high and free and may you always have a full crop.

We will never know why B17 became sick so quickly, going from a healthy, active eaglet on Sunday, April 7, to a less active, then a lethargic, ill baby on Wednesday, April 10. Mom and Dad provided well for B17, never lacking in food and B17 seeminly ate all the time. Still B17 seemed small for their stage of development; therefore failure to thrive took it’s toll. There has been lots of speculation as to what was wrong, but again we will never know. Thank you everyone for watching this nest. Life goes on and Mom and Dad will continue to be around. I'm going to take a break but will check back every so often. :grhug: :brknhrt:

Hi Marianne
I'm not better but i wasn't able to let our little one alone during all this night even if as i arrived i knew it was too late, B17 had already flown away before

My tears, my full nose, no good for my breathing problems but it is B17, i was there when he hatched, i had to be there too during its departure for this new world where he will find many of his older siblings... :rh:

yesterday and things took a quick turn for the worse overnight. Unfortunately there is no way for us to know the cause of B17's death. It is very important now that we do what is best for the eagles and not interfere with the nest. If we had tried to intervene, we could risk injury to the eagles, or even risk nest abandonment. The nest live stream may be

Sweet B17 has completely left the nest. Mom finished consuming late this afternoon. Still so hard to believe. Thank you Maddy for hugs and prayers.

PatchyJoe: 4:15 Pa to the nest. 4:18 Pa to the RB. Pa is still on the right branch. I was here when he flew in and it took me by surprise. I had my sound off so going back to see if I can see or hear what may have brought him in or not.

Life goes on and Mom and Dad are moving on; their schedule was different this year because of the second clutch. I imagine they will be here less and less before picking right back up with a new season. Meanwhile, hopefully BCE will be able to do their camera maintenance, get cam 1 back up running, and resolve all the issues we experienced with all the cameras this year.

Take care everyone, especially you Philjo, and hope to see everyone back for a new season.
I am still going to post all the s'caps I took before B17's death, just a few at at time.

Fly free, little one, far beyond the sky.

From chat:
PatchyJoe: Thanks Beeber, for following up on Pa who I posted came in during the night. See he came down to the nest at 6:35 and flew out in the same minute, then Mom showed up at 6:47!

PatchyJoe: 2:05 Mom to the nest. Looked to be cleaning up from where she ate her fish this morning. 2:07 Mom to the LB and flew seconds later.

6 PM
PatchyJoe: Have been watching to see if Pa goes back to making his nightly nest check and in pops Mom! 8:09 Mom to the nest. 8:12 Mom flew.

Apr 12, 7:16 PM
Lorismurfy: I am going to call it a night too. Being out in the high winds with all the pollen has my eyes itchy and red. HAGW everyone

Apr 12, 7:18 PM
PatchyJoe: Here he is!! 8:18 Pa to the nest with a stick to place!

Apr 12, 7:21 PM
PatchyJoe: 8:22 Pa flew.
