M15 flies to the nest at 6:55 AM with talons full of grass. Places grass and begins his incubation shift at 6:56 AM. Good Dad!

12-1-22
Good morning everyone
Here is my cam video covering the early hours this morning. Harriet was spooked by what she saw/heard, and reacts with defensive posture/warning vocals. M15 will incubate for his first short night incubation of Season 11.

"SWFL Eagle Cam 12-1-22. Harriet is spooked at night; M15's first short night incubation."
Cam video covers Harriet reacting (defensive posture/warning vocals) early in the morning to what she sees/hears (slo-mo, followed by normal time). M15 drops to the nest twelve minutes later and will incubate Egg #Time1 at night for the first time. M15 leaves the nest, and Harriet remains up, delaying incubation. Time stamps provided, if interested. Click on any time stamp to advance to that part.
Here are a few scaps from my video:
0412. Harriet reacts to what she sees/hears with defensive posture/warning vocals. 0445. After dropping to the nest, M15/right takes a short incubation shift. 0450. M15/above will return to the attic.

Last night cont...
I am not questioning why , and I have no answers. Why Harriet has left egg #1 in the nest alone for more than 2 hours now.
I am just posting what I see.
After both H & M perched quietly in the attic the past few hours,
Harriet will become very vocal at M. She starts to move closer to M.
1:05 am M moves all the way as far as he can go out the end of attic. Harriet is having a discussion with him. Harriet will return back to the nest.

Harriet ducks and flinches ??
4:12 am Harriet flinches again, at something ? Harriet is still watching the area. Which is what she did most of the night.

M will come to the nest. They both do some aerating around eggie.
4:24 am Of course M has laid down. Harriet is still on watch. She has been making soft vocals for a while now. And will continue to do so.
M seem to be ok, no vocals from him.

My observations of egg #1
s'caps from 11/30/22
Egg #1 looks smooth. No ripples or ridges. No calcium deposits bumps, or dimples. Very smooth egg.
From what close ups zoom has been able to capture so far.
zoomie !

At 9:49 AM alarms heard from the nest. Looks like Harriot's injured mouth. Soaring bird visible across the street. At 9:53 Zoomie shows large soaring bird in opposite direction to the left of the red barn.

Lady Hawk for the video !
Hello MaryF, thank you for posting !
.
Journi, for your daily observation box
androcat for your video. I also did not see anything, as to what Harriet was flinching about.
