We Have A Pip
No one would have expected that after such a tragedy of Rita being injured that we would see Eaglet(s) on this nest but a miracle has truly happened here. Rose was the first miracle, the eggs the second, and now a pip.
Last night a mark was seen on egg #1 and later confirmed to be a pip. This morning we see the pip more clearly

Rose and R4 and R5. Lots of food on the nest. It is 81 degrees and the need for brooding here has not happen as much because of how warm it is

Re: Dade County, FL Eagles--2022/23
So a bit of an update on these two has grown a lot since my last post.
Both eaglets were banded on April 24. R4 at age 44 days, and R5 at age 42 days. Feathers were taken and R4 is Male. Testing for R5 was inconclusive and is being retested and as of yet not disclosed.
Rose and Ron have done a great job raising these eaglets and with Rose being a first-time Mom it has been a bit of an adventure but she has done an awesome job so far.
R4 is aggressive one on the nest and at times it has been a bit hard to watch but all is going in the right direction.

I had read she was missing and when I saw your post I went and checked the nest and she is home, returning around 4.30Pm today. So happy to see her. It has been such a hard season for Ron already and breaks my heart to think he could lose Rose too.

We lost already too many adults and youngs, enough is enough... Is it blood we can see on her head feathers ?
