Update On Connick From Window To Wildlife
From CROW:
Connick is being transferred to Audubon for continued rehab. His bloodwork has stabilized. He needs to grow back primary feathers, but the follicles looks healthy.
This is where Connick will be living as Connick recovers
https://cbop.audubon.org/
Connie and Clive watch over their territory today at the nest tree as we hear this great news. It will still be a long journey for Connick but with prayers, Connick will soar one day as Connick is meant to do

Re: Captiva/Sanibel Island Eagle Cam 2022/23
From Renie - Mod From Captiva Chat:
I was in touch with the Audubon in Maitland. Connick is ripping his own fish like a real pro now. His blood work is all leveling out to the normal ranges.
We should all await the regrowth of his feathers. It was explained that when the time does come for Connick to be released, it will be in this Captiva Island area.
If for some unknown reason, these missing feathers never regenerated, Connick would be found a home to live out the rest of his life.
Connor will have a formal update video about Connick in the next few days.
Thank you all for always wondering and asking about our Connick.

Thanks, ondabebe - not sure why I'm crying, but pretty sure they're happy tears. Looking forward to Connor's update.ondabebe wrote: ↑Sat Apr 29, 2023 5:35 pmFrom Renie - Mod From Captiva Chat:

Good Afternoon!
Cams have Been Shut Down
Season 2022-2023
It has been a season of hardship, joy, and sadness. Hurricane Ian brought early sadness to all of us devastating the Island of Captiva. When we thought there would be no season a special team from Window to Wildlife changed all that. With their help and many who donated the cams were replaced and the nest that was no longer was rebuilt in the same tree that had been for so many years Connie's home. To our amazement when the cam went live in December there was Connie and Clive and incubating 2 eggs.
Only one egg hatch CE9. CE9 would be named later Connick after Connor and Nick who could not have done more to make this season happen. Connick grew into a beautiful eaglet and its antics and ways kept us watching.
Connick branched on March 30 2023 at the age of 79 Days Old but in the coming days, it was observed that Connick was losing its flight feather.
On April 4 2023 Connick fell trying to branch most likely due to the loss of flight feathers in the past three days. Connick was rescued by CROW and SCCF (84 Days Old)
On April 21 2023 Connick was transferred to Audubon for continued rehab. His bloodwork had stabilized and he needs to grow back his primary feathers, but the follicles look healthy. (99 Days Old)
Connick will stay at the Audubon Center for Birds of Prey until his flight feather hopefully will grow back. Connick will then be returned to Captiva Island where he will finally be able to fledge and soar the skies as he was meant to do
